Biography: Theodore Eicke

Theodore Eicke was born on October 17,1892. Theodore was raised in Hamont

Germ an empire. Eicke joined the German army and around the first world

War won the iron cross. Eicke was an inspector in the Thuringia police force. He

cooperated in various police force. He lost all these jobs because of his

antagonism attitude. Around 1928 he joined the National Socialist German party.

In 1930 he commanded the ss regiment of Rine palatinate. During this he was

suspected of carrying out bomb attacks on political opponents. After this

Heinrich Himmler advised to go and live in Italy. After the accusations of the

bombing he was sentenced in 1932 for preparing political bomb attacks. Around

this time Adolf hitler came to power,during this Eicke returned to Germany. Eicke

believed in nazi ideology, Eicke embraced the nazi political movement and racial
discrimination. Eicke was a fanatic who had supported this sadistic movement.

Eicke had demonstrated that he possessed the basic qualities needed to get on

the ss regime. In 1933 Eicke was appointed as a commandant of Dachua

concentration camp, the first concentration camp built in Nazi germany.

Eicke was known for having a unstable character and violent outbursts.

According to Andrew Mollow author of “The Death’s head: The story of the ss

1982 Eicked had described the neglect that was going on in the concentration

camp "There were times when we has no coats, no boots, no socks. The brutal,

energetic Eicke had earned his promotion by his important role in suppressing

the so-called Rohm putsch; it was Eicke who personally executed the SA chief in

his cell at Stadelheim prison, in Munich on 1 July 1934. Under Eicke’s

regime no pity was to be shown for “enemies of the state”

and prisoners were treated with maximum severity. Eicke

laid down exact instructions on corporal punishment,

beatings, solitary confinement and shooting of offenders

who were considered as “agitators,” in mutineers or


refractory elements who refused to obey instructions

regarding working details. Dachau was with its SS motto

that “tolerance is a sign of weakness,” became a model for

the German concentration camp system as a whole. A man

named Dachua was trained byThe purpose of Eicke’s

Russia, and the plane crashed behind soviet lines. Due to

recover the remains of their commander. Eicke was giving

a elaborate funeral at one of the cemeteries of the division

of Orelka. Eicke passed away on February 26, 1943.
