The Federalist Papers

James Madison, 4th president of the United States, in his Publication of The Federalist

Papers(1787) argued that the apparent separation within political factions is what will indeed

prevent this country from meeting the fate of its current enemy. Madison expresses his

controversial belief through personification of government as a whole, repetition of the values of

the people, and thorough patriotic diction. Madison employs such tactics in order to counter that

message displayed by first president George Washington in his farewell address and provide

justification to his political representation. Madison targets the American people in order to

further heighten his political status as well as increase following of his party.
