PRACTICE INSTRUCTIONS.

Remember there are different actions you can practice.

1. Repeat

2. Say the opposite

3. Change tense

4. Say something true for you

To give up (stop doing something)

Give up - repeat

Give up using pens - repeat

Give up using pens in the future - repeat

We will give up using pens in the future- repeat

We will give up using pens in the future - substitute another noun for pens

You might say,


We will give up using coal in the future
We will give up using petrol powered cars in the future

We will give up using pens in the future - say the opposite

You might say,


We won’t give up using pens in the future
We will carry on using pens in the future

You might say,

To my mind, handwriting is unimportant

To my mind, handwriting is important - make a comparative sentence

You might say,


To my mind, handwriting is more important than typing
To my mind, handwriting is less important than typing

To my mind, handwriting is more important than typing - what do you think?

A style of (a way of doing something)

A style of - repeat

A style of writing - repeat

We each have a unique style of writing - repeat

We each have a unique style of writing - say the opposite

You could say,


We don’t each have a unique style of writing
We each have the same style of writing

We each have a unique style of writing - substitute another noun for writing

You might say,


We each have a unique style of dancing
We each have a unique style of speaking

Rub out (to erase something on paper)

Rub out - repeat

Rub out my mistakes - repeat

I use an eraser to rub out my mistakes - repeat

She uses an eraser to rub out her mistakes- say the opposite

You should say,


She doesn’t use an eraser to rub out her mistakes

She uses an eraser to rub out her mistakes - change to a conditional tense

You might say,


She would use an eraser to rub out her mistakes, if she had one (but she doesn’t)
She would have used an eraser to rub out her mistakes, if she had had one (but she didn’t)

I use an eraser to rub out my mistakes - what about you?

You might say,

The way I see it, typing will be neater than handwriting, if you are good at typing
