Introduction
Studies have called for reducing the daily working hours to only five, and confirmed that this will contribute
to improving employee productivity, while indicating that the increase in the intensity of hours leads to
more stress.
The 8-hour workday has been the norm for more than a century, but recent polls indicate that most people
really only produce 3 hours each day, which has led to calls for the work day to be reduced to five or six
hours. This decision will increase employee well-being and ultimately productivity.
In addition to a noticeable improvement in increasing the productivity of companies and increasing the job
satisfaction of their employees when adopting the system of reducing hours.

There are many companies that encourage their employees to work longer and longer hours. According to
the surveys that recently done on this topic, recent employees sign Longer hours than ever. With increasing
pressure to deliver tangible results and high expectations of managers Increasing competition in local
markets, employee productivity has become and managers alike are more important than ever.
Unfortunately, many CEOs follow the old idea which its mean they want to be productive, but they don't
realize that more hours of work lead to less productivity

The main objective of the study is to identify the impact of reducing working hours on employee
productivity.
This research will help to raise awareness among managers about the negative effects that result from long
working hours for employees and from the extra time work system that results in a decrease in productivity
and job satisfaction for employees.
This research will help companies take action to rectify the situation, which includes reducing excessive
collaboration and implementing best practices for time management.

The study said that a New Zealand company gave its 240 employees over eight weeks, three days off, and
work every week only four days instead of five days Employees worked 30 hours a week, instead of the
usual 37.5 Despite the decrease in the number of working hours, this did not make a difference. Rather, the
opposite occurred. Productivity increased significantly, as well as the positive impact on work among
employees in the company.
