Short Film Production 

 
 
EXT. DRIVEWAY DAY 
 
We see two people rushing out of the front door, LISA on the
phone and Charlie carrying the bags.  

LISA 
(on the phone in foreign language) 

Yes mum, we are leaving for the airport now, I’ll

call you when we get there.  

LISA looks over at CHARLIE behind her shoulder and turns back
to say to the phone.  

LISA 
(Quietly whispering and covering her mouth with one hand) 

Mum look, CHARLIE needs this! Specially afetr what

happened.  
 
There is a slight pause, LISA turns to face CHARLIE in the car
and ends the call with her mum. 

LISA
(With a faint smile says)
Yeah don’t worry about it, he isn't going to do
anything. Okay I love you, bye.
 
LISA walks towards the car door whilst CHARLIE patiently
waiting for her to take a seat with a tight smile.
 
 
INT INSIDE THE CAR DAY 
 
CHARLIE is driving peacefully while LISA is checking for the
best route on Google Maps, CHARLIE seems annoyed but wants to
lighten the mood by saying.. 
 

CHARLIE  
Excited!? A whole week off the grid just the two of
us in a cozy little hut by the beach. 
 

LISA 
(Still with her gaze at the phone) 
Yeah...so excited  
 
 CHARLIE
(With a displease look on his face grunts and sarcastically)

Oh look! we are driving off a cliff, guess this is

the end.

LISA
(Still not taking her eyes off her phone)

Uh Hu

Charlie annoyed turns back to look at the road trying to calm

his anger and looks at LISA unaware of his discontentment.  
 
CUT TO NEXT SHOT: 
  
INT LISA POV DAY 
 
LISA finally sends off her email before a deadline and turns
to look at moody CHARLIE. 
 
LISA 
(Takes a deep breath and with a faint smile says)
 
Okay I’m sorry! It's just I really needed to send it
before the deadline tomorrow and I didn’t want to
take time from our holiday.  
 
Charlie says nothing looking blankly at the road as if she’s
not there.  
 
LISA
But now that is all sent over I am all yours!
 
There is a long pause of LISA just staring at CHARLIE trying
to think how to make CHARLIE snap out of his bad mood. We
start hearing LISA’S inner monologue as she looks at him
trying to hide her frustration.  
 
LISA  
Should I bring it up bluntly or should I tip toe
around it?

No, he’d get upset again.

The Doctor did say we both need to communicate

better.
 But every time we bring up his mum he gets soo...
ugh.

Maybe my mum was right, you can’t have healthy

relationship with someone who still has their own
issues going on.

I love him but it has become clear that the stuff

with his mum is affecting his own personal
relationships, especially when it comes to me.

I know it was an accident, he just gets like that

and he didn’t mean to do it, but....he just makes me
feel so scared when I'm alone with him.

Let him have this week and find the time to let him
know.

CUT TO NEXT SCENE: 

INT CHARLIE’S POV NIGHT  
 
LISA has fallen asleep and CHARLIE is still driving, now
calmed we hear his inner thoughts whilst glancing at LISA
sleeping from time to time.  
 
CHARLIE 

Well at least she off at least she is off her phone

now. 

(sighs) she just hasn’t been okay lately, something

is up.  

Maybe is he over barring mother gives her some space

she could actually thing for herself for once,
rather than constantly trying to please her.
  
I guess that’s just part of their culture, it’s a
bit toxic is you ask me but can’t say that! No that
would make me a racist is their eyes. 
 
I just wish she would understand that just because I
shout sometimes or punch a wall is not me being
angry with her.  

She just got in the way that time, I didn’t know she
was going to walk past.  
 I swear sometimes she's just like my mum, playing
the victim. 
 
 
Charlie glances at LISA for a moment and focuses on her
face.  
CHARLIE 
Also why does she get so insecure, can’t she tell
I’m committed to her. 

That I take our relationship seriously.  

I only looked at Sarah once, that’s all, a total
glance.  

Is she hot? Yes of course she is but I love her not

Sarah. I can’t help that we work in the same office
together.  

If I wanted to I totally could of banged her by now,

but I don't because I’m a committed boyfriend.  

Anyway, this week it’s going to be great for us, I

will show her how much I love her and do all the
cheesy crap I used to do back when we were together.
  
Yes, we are going to be okay.  
 
CUT TO:  
 
INT INSIDE THE CAR NIGHT 

We see CHARLIE and LISA arguing in the car, it’s all muffled
with only a few words can be heard clearly. Flashing lights
start appearing from the outside of the car, an intense close
up of the couple's face arguing. Then the sound dims down with
an ear ringing sound becoming louder until ultimately a big
white light shines on LISA face and then silence.
