1. Topic No as 01 Advocate

A lawyer or attorney is a person who practices law, as an advocate,

attorney at law, barrister, barrister-at-law, bar-at-law, canonist, canon

lawyer, civil law notary, counsel, counselor, solicitor, legal executive, or

public servant preparing, interpreting and applying the law, but not as a

paralegal or charter.

An advocate is a species within the legal profession that possesses a law

degree and also stands for clients in the court of law. An advocate offers

the client's pleading in an attempt to help them win a case and stay clear

of jail terms or be compensated depending upon whether they are a

plaintiff or the implicated.


2. Topic No as 02 The Sindh Bar Council is a statutory regulatory body

of lawyers in Sindh for safeguarding the rights, interests, rights and

privileges of practicing lawyers, within the province of Sindh,

Pakistan. The Council is a deliberative body which regulates the

conduct of lawyers and helps in the administration of justice.

21. Classes of advocates.--There shall be the following four classes of advocates,

namely:-

1. senior advocates of the Supreme Court;

2. advocates of the Supreme Court 133[including advocates-on-record];

3. advocates of the High Court

4. and other advocates

22. Right of advocates to practice.--(1) Save as otherwise provided in this Act,

no

person shall be entitled to practice the profession of law unless he is an

advocate.

24. Admission and enrolment of Advocates of the High Court.--138[…….] Each

separate rolls} of advocates of the High Court in which shall be entered.

25. Admission and enrolment of other advocates.--145[(1)] Each Provincial

Bar

advocates to be prepared and maintained by it under Section 24, prepare

and maintain 148{for the Province 149 and Islamabad Capital Territory]

and each 150[district in the Province and Islamabad Capital Territory] two

separate rolls} of advocates in which shall be entered the names

26. Persons qualified for admission as advocates.--152[ ] Subject to the

of this Act and the rules made thereunder, a person shall be qualified to be

admitted as an advocate if he fulfils the following conditions.


Topic No as 04 AFFILIATION OF LAW COLLEGES RULES

1. Name & Commencement:

(1) These rules may be called the “Affiliation of Law Colleges Rules”.

(2) They shall come into force at once and will also be applicable to all law

colleges

affiliated or to be affiliated.

2. Definitions:

“Act” means the Legal Practitioners & Bar Councils Act, 1973.

(a) “Council” means the Pakistan Bar Council.

(b) “Rules” means the Pakistan Bar Council Legal Education Rules, 1978.

(c) “College” means the Law College affiliated with a University.

(d) “University” means the University, having the Faculty of Law,

(e) established under

a statute and recognized by the Pakistan Bar Council.

3. Ownership: The ownership of the College with all its assets shall vest in

a body corporate and not in any individual.

4. Security: The applicant shall prior to enrolling and admitting

students shall deposit a sum of Rs. One Million with the concerned

University as security.

5. Building: The College shall be located in a spacious, separate and

independent building building on a plot of a at least 2000 sq. Yards,

without any other institution or person sharing the premises.

6. Class rooms etc. The College shall have at least three class rooms with

one having seating capacity of 150 or more students, a common room,

a ladies room and a separate staff room.

7. Canteen & firs aid facilities: The college shall have adequate canteen,

toilets and first aid facilities.

8. Qualification of Principal of Private Law College: The qualification of a

Principal of a private Law College shall be Master’s Degree in law from a


recognized University with at least 10 years teaching experience or a

Bachelor’s Degree in Law with 15 years teaching experience.

9. Whole time Teachers: There shall be at least two whole time teachers with

academic

qualifications and experience as prescribed by the University.

10. Qualification of Part – time teachers: The part – time teacher should have

the qualification and experience prescribed by the Rules. The number of

lectures delivered per week by a part – time teacher shall not exceed eight
