Despite the fact that there is no comprehensive idea to describe the concept of health, it is an engaging

issue to discuss among all relevant parties. Despite the fact that the World Health Organization (WHO)
defines health as a condition of total physical, mental and social welfare and not only the absence of
sickness or infirmity World Health Organization (2022), there are additional factors to take into account
when pondering what health really entails.

The common proverb Health is wealth conveys the idea of health from the perspective of being free
from illness and disease, which is referred to as health-in-a-vacuum. Being the conventional signal for
healthy living and wellbeing, this idea can be genuine and complete (Noack, 1990). I was exposed to this
concept throughout my upbringing, and I totally agreed.. However, as I continue to gain a deeper
understanding of life, this idea feels inadequate to me because I frequently encounter circumstances in
which I feel healthy and entire physically but psychologically unhappy.

The psychological research' emphasis on total welfare and functioning—including mental, bodily, and
functional aspects—was the second idea with which I agreed. This idea is well grasped after reading
Crinson's (2007) book, which aims to make the connection between mental health and happiness. The
dual continuum model and the single continuum model are the two basic views that may be used to
explain it, according to the statement. Because of my experience, I have learned to accept this notion. I
have been mentally healthy on various instances, but now my mental health is deteriorating (Crinson,
2007). In a situation like this, I've considered taking my own life since my life is not going well.

My definition of holistic health involves being free from illness and disease, as well as having mental
wellness that leads to mental wellbeing. Despite the conceptual overlap between well-being and quality
of life, psychological wellbeing measurements typically focus on two aspects: affective wellbeing (feeling
states) and cognitive or mental performance. I think a notion that takes these two things into account is
comprehensive.

Question: Can anticipation and disappointment management increase wellbeing in the context of
mental health and mental wellbeing, or should antidepressants be considered as the first line of
treatment?
