Office Politics

Or “workplace politics” are the differences between employees at work. This could be differences in
personalities, opinions, or position and authority. This topic is usually avoided to prevent conflicts
because some employees tend to misuse their power to obtain advantages. Why? Because they perform
activities that will improve their status or power. These self-serving actions are some of the reasons that
office politics are connoted in a negative light. But of course, there are ways to practice it to ensure
appropriate and fair office politics in the workplace. According to Cheok (2019), good habits will help a
person win in the workplace and this will be discussed by the next presenter.
