1.0 INTRODUCTION

The purpose of this project is to develop student understanding and practise

using static engineering in a project. The purpose of this project is to develop student
understanding and practise using static engineering in a project. This project must
discover the model's most stable configuration by using centre of gravity and
overtuning moment principles caused by predefined forces vector operating on a rigid
body.A "crane" is a machine that is usually equipped with a hoist, wire ropes or
chains, and sheaves and may be used to raise and lower goods as well as move them
horizontally. It is mostly used for lifting big objects and moving them to different
locations. It employs one or more basic devices to generate advantage and so move
loads beyond a man's typical capacity. The goal of this project is to create a hydraulic
crane that replicates the behaviour of larger hydraulic cranes. The crane is a horizontal
lever (jib) attached to a vertical support or tower.. The syringe at the base is handled
by hand, causing the syringe that connects the tower to the jib to push and the jib to
rise. A more modern crane contains a winding mechanism that allows the winding
rope to be raised and lowered (string in thiscase). Water in two syringes linked by a
tube produces the pushing power that causes the crane jib to rise and fall. William
Armstrong created the hydraulic crane in Newcastle in 1845 to assist load coal into
boats at the Quayside.

1.1 CONCEPT OF CRANE

The crane construction idea employs ecologically friendly and cost-effective
applications. The following materials were used in the building of this crane:

 Satay stick(made from bamboo)

 Suitable commercial glue
 Sewing thread
 Ice cream stick
