Erwin Rommel

My hero is Erwin Rommel. He was one of the most distinguished and remarkable
field marshals of Germany, the Wehrmacht, and the Second World War, being at
the same time one of the greatest German military commanders.

At the age of fourteen, Rommel and a friend built a small glider that could fly
short distances. Rommel enlisted in the 124th Württemberg Infantry Regiment in
1910 as a cadet officer and was soon sent to the Danzig Officer. He graduated on
November 15, 1911, and was promoted to lieutenant in January 1912. In 1938,
Rommel, now a colonel, was appointed commander of the Wiener Neustadt War
Academy. Here began the writing Panzer greift. Rommel was transferred shortly
after, taking command of Adolf Hitler's personal protective battalion

In his life, he didn’t have a "dream", he just wanted to be a kind man, even on the
battlefield, and that is what fascinates me. Following the failure of the anti-Hitler
attack of July 20, 1944, Hitler gave him the chance to commit suicide, which he
did with poison.

In conclusion, even if he was a bad man, in the end, he tried to kill the bad in this
world, and I think, that is something that not many people tried to do.
