QUESTION # 2
ROLE OF “ADOLF HITLER” IN (WW1)
FIRST WORLD WAR

1st world war was started by the German and Austrian-Hungry leaders after the assassination
of Archduke Franz Ferdinand and his wife. At that time Hitler started to serve as an
infantryman (age 25). Then he served as the private in the 16th Bavarian Reserve Infantry
Regiment (Also known as “Line Regiment”) from August 1914.Following his Baptism in fire in
Oct, 1914, he became a dispatch runner for
Regimental Head Quarter.

On October 7, 1916, unfortunately he was

wounded in the leg in the battle of Somme
and then hospitalized in Germany. After
recovery he was assigned to some light task
in Munich.
During March, 1917, he was sent back to the
Front. In August 1918, he received the Iron
Cross First Class (a rarity for foot
soldiers).Interestingly, the lieutenant who
recommended Hitler for medal was a Jew.

Despite his good record and a total of 5

medals he remained as the corporal. The
reason was that most of his seniors thought
that he would not be able to gain more
respect as a sergeant, due to his unmilitary
appearance and odd personality.
In October 1918, he was temporarily blinded
by British Chlorine Gas attack near Ypres.
While he was hospitalized, a pastor gave
news of fall of German Reich on November,
1918.
On June 28, 1919 Treaty of Versailles was
signed between Germany and allied nation
to end the war.
QUESTION # 3
HITLER’S PERSONALITY FROM CHILDHOOD
TO
DEATH

Childhood & Education:

Adolf Hitler was born in small town of Austria on
April 20, 1889 to Alois and Klara. He had five
siblings but only one of them could live past
childhood. His father had terrible temper that’s why he and Hitler could not get along. His
mother was exactly opposite of his father. His father died in 1903 (when he was 14) and his
mother in 1907(when he was 18).
During his primary education he used to be an amazing student but when he was enrolled in
high school of science and technology he failed to pass the entrance test twice.

Hitler’s Political Career:

In 1919, He joins the German Workers’ Party, an extreme anti-communist, anti-Semitic right
wing organization. Hitler challenges Anton Drexler to become leader of the Nazi party. After
initial resistance, Drexler agrees and Hitler becomes the new leader of the party in the year
1921. After this Hitler and 2000 Nazi’s march through Munich to the Beer Hall, to overthrow
the Bavarian government with an armed uprising in the year 1923.He is captured and serves 9
months in landsberg prison where he wrote the book Mein Kampf (My Struggle). In the General
Election of September 1930, the Nazi Party increases its representatives in parliament from
14 to 107. Hitler is now the leader of the second largest party in Germany.
In January 1933, Hitler becomes chancellor of a coalition government. In July 1934; Hitler
becomes “Fuehrer and Reich Chancellor” and abolishes the title of President. On 1 st
September, 1939 Germany invades Poland. The Germans surrender in the battle of Stalingrad.
From this point in the war, Germany is continually retreating in February 1943.On 30 th April,
1945 Hitler shot himself In January 1945, Soviet troops enter Nazi Germany. On may 7 1945,
Germany surrendered to allies and ended WW2 and 3rd Reich.

My Opinion On Hitler’s
Personality:
Hitler was associated with
many mental disorders
including bipolar disorder,
Schizophrenia and Psychopathy.
There are many of the aspects
of Hitler’s personality which
were definitely influenced by
the terrible events happened
during his childhood and youth.
He had no siblings as most of
them died in the childhood.
Then the death of his parents caused him another distress. He had to give up on his dream of
taking art as his career. He failed entrance exam in high school twice. He had nobody to
support him morally and emotionally during the most difficult stage of his life. As far as I have
discovered, people who have lost too much and have no purpose of life generally induct in
army because to those individuals life has no meaning. I think the same happened to Hitler
because he had suffered from the pain of so many failures and losses, he had become cruel,
rude and inhumane.

QUESTION # 4
WAS HITLER A GENIUS???

Hitler was a good orator and he used to write his speeches by himself but still we can’t say
that he was genius. There are many evidences that can clarify such kind of myth. For instance
he failed twice in the college entrance test and had done many mistakes while running his
dictatorship in Germany. He was just persistent and maybe lucky that he could escape from
so many attempts of assassination and then getting a chance to lead the German army despite
of the fact that he had no militaristic appearance.
It was not his acute sharpness and intelligence that led him to be the leader of Nazi Germany.
Instead, it was because he had developed so much hatred for Jews and for those who he
considered to be the traitors of Germany.
