women (42%) in the United
States say they have faced
discrimination on the job
because of their gender. They
report a broad array of
personal experiences, ranging
from earning less than male
counterparts for doing the
same job to being passed over
for important assignments,
according to a new analysis of
Pew Research Center survey
data.
 Women are about four times more likely to report that men treat
them as if they are incompetent because of their gender.

 About three in ten working women say they have repeatedly


experienced minor harassment at work because of their gender.

Ways Gender Discrimination Can
Affect Women In The Workplace
 Gender discrimination in the workplace can have far-reaching effects on a
person’s physical, psychological, and emotional health.
 It can be upsetting to feel unable to control how you’re treated or viewed
by others on account of your gender, and this can affect all aspects of
employment, from perceived safety of your work environment to your
ability to perform job responsibilities fully and to the best of your abilities.
 The effects of gender discrimination on women in the workplace can
include:
 Reduced productivity low self-esteem Feelings of frustration, anger or
paranoia A feeling of insecurity or fear

style, it is called prejudice towards
women. Men only prove by this that they are
afraid of someone being stronger than
