Assignment 1: Entrepreneurial Mindset

Assessment

Well, to begin with my introduction, my name is shiva sambhawi, PGDM 1st year student. So,
in this assignment I have evaluated myself from different perspectives. First, I have done my
assessment on the basis of how goal oriented I am.
Yes, I do define goals for myself, whether it is a small task or is anything big that I am going
to do in future. I do decide everything beforehand. I plan my day or all my personal and
important tasks according to the goal that I have decided for myself. For any goal to be
accomplished, it is important that I work towards it. I make sure that I do all the tasks
properly that needs to be done in order to achieve my goal. I set specific goals before
beginning any work. Along with doing the assessment of my work progress against my
objectives I also assess myself after achieving it as how well I have done to accomplish my
goals.
Now I have assessed myself from the other perspective. So, before doing any work I evaluate
all the different options that I have been provided with and then I try to choose the best out of
all. For example, I have been giving my exams as well as attending my classes and finishing
my assignments. So, the point here is although I have received the leave from the college
administration still, I realized that if I skip any class or do no submit my assignment on time
it will be very difficult for me to catch up with whole class. Therefor I selected a way to
manage my time in order to give equal importance to both the current significant aspects of
my life.
For me focus is the most important thing. If I am not focused on something then I won’t be
able to give my best to that particular task. Once I am focused nothing can stop me from
achieving my objective. There’s a incident related to the importance of focus that happened
to me in my school days. I took part in the 200m race which was going to take place on the
sports day. While practicing for the race I was not focused and was not giving much
importance to the race, and I fell onto the ground while running. One of my schoolmates then
commented that it was something expected of me. That comment really hit me hard. From
that moment on I decided to work very hard and started to give all my focus on my goal that
is to win the race. In the end I came at the first position. I learned this lesson for the lifetime
from that incident.
I believe that a person should have faith in his/her hard work, intelligence and capability
more then the luck or other’s support. A person should always have a positive mindset. An
optimistic thinking brings lots of positivity and makes the will power of a person strong
enough to achieve something out of the box.
According to me the main mantra of success is focus, positive mindset, dedication and
continuous hard work. If I have the capability to do and be something different and also if I
have the capability to achieve it then I must have faith in myself.
