1. My name is Gurleen kaur I completed my higher education in humanity stream and I am doing my
graduation from St.Lawrence college in tourism . I completed my 10th standard in BAALAK YESU convent
school where I have actually grown up and spend my life 11 years in school it was really beautiful days I
has spend here then for higher education I went SAFFRON CITY SCHOOL therefore in 2 years I also get
new experience and a good education in that school.

2. n.. I have chosen this field of study because I want to be a tourism development director and I want to
excel in this field and I even have good communication and leadership skill which helps me to do this job
in a better way so that I can get good experience and excel in this field with flying colors.
3. Well my potential employer can find about me is my skills and my achievements as I have good
leadership because in my school I was head girl and discipline head this is my big achievement of past
education and if I talk about now so I am doing best in studies and one day what I decided to be I will be,
it shows that I am working hard to achieve my goals in this field of study.

4. Now I am going to discuss my 5 marketable skills which is related to my field of study.

1. ABILITY TO COMMUNICATE:

SITUATION:Tourism director often communicate with variety of stakeholders, including other tourism
professionals , potential investors, government officials and members of public.I remember that when I
was in 8th standard then I participated in a debate where I come to know about communication skills
with others while debating with opponent team.

TASK:My task is to debate on political conflicts so with good communication I started my debate by
giving favorable points of mine on the topic as I studied each and everything about my topic and even
about what opponent could ask me and my team members.

ACTION: In debate one point is given by me first and then opponent team gave their point but, what the
difference I have among all of them is that I am able communicate with them calmly by debating even
and my point I has given is always relevant so from that time I develop my communication skill.

RESULT: At last my team won the debate and I was so happy my teacher especially appreciate me on
that the way you communicate with others is appreciated so it’s very important that how you talk with
others.

2. LEADERSHIP:

SITUATION: Well I was head girl of Baalak Yesu Convent School there we have annual function in our
school so it’s mine responsibility to represent my school with help of my teachers and I learned a lot
that how to conduct this function.

TASK: My task is to distribute duties among students and guide them what they should do as teachers
and principal told me each and everything about function. With the help of Head boy and other heads I
did my task like who will do which dance, speech and so many things.

ACTION: My main work is to welcome the guest with greetings and speeches and on function I checked
everything because I am responsible for that but I am little bit nervous too that everything will be fine
what I am doing because it’s is big responsibility and trust of my teachers which I don’t wants to be
brake.

RESULT: Finally the day has arrive for whom I am waiting from long time and everything went well what I
has decided so I am glad to share I receive a award for this on our farewell party in front of everyone
and I was on cloud nine.

3. HARDWORK:
SITUATION:Well, without hard work it’s very difficult to achieve anything. If we want to be something in
our life then we have to work hard on them to achieve a goal. I remember that I was not good in
Mathematics and it very hard for me solve when any equation comes to exam.

TASK:Once a while I failed my mid- term because we have less time to do an exam and I have no idea
how to finish all equations so what I know I am not able to solve that even. When the question paper
came, the formulas I read all went blank therefore, I am not able to solve any question at that time.

ACTION: From that onwards with the help of my maths teacher I did lots of practice. Well I am not that
perfect l in maths but I tried my best so that I could do better than before because that time I have final
exam if I will not pass then I will fail the class no matter whether how good I am at in other subjects as
mathematics is a main subject.

RESULT: Then, I now have exam of maths I have study other subjects too but my goal is to pass the exam
with good marks and therefore I passed my exam but only with average grade.My teacher told it’s far
better then before on that day I got happy and my teacher appreciate my hard work and dedication as
well as she told me if you do practise like this then one day your hard work fully pays off.

4. SELF CONFIDENCE:

SITUATION:Confidence plays an vital role to do something in your life but if you are confident on
yourself then nobody can stop you to achieve any goal so, always be confident when you plan to do
something .As I already told that I want to be a Tourism Development Director and one day I will be.

TASK:I per-sue my studies already in this course and soon I will be graduate in tourism course and I am
confident on myself that I will be director because I have skills to be that and if will do work hard then
definitely I will be. As I know once a while my teacher give me a project to make dam on that everybody
told me that it’s difficult to build this and you can’t do it so from that time I decided and I have self
confidence that I will do that.

ACTION:I bought all what I need and then search on it and saw many videos it’s hard for me to built the
dam on a thermal power but I tried a lot and firstly I am not able to made it but then I never give
up.Again I saw videos and all electrical fittings afterwards generator start working then it gives hope to
do more better well, I am pretty sure I will do it just have be patience.

RESULT: As a result afterwards, I finally made it and it’s same project which I actually wanted to make
and so happy I make it my teacher was happy too.Here I want to say it’s my self confidence only that
helps me to make it.

5.WILLINGNESS TO ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITIES:

SITUATION:Taking responsibility is accepting ownership of your intentions,actions,decisions,and
reactions,both good and bad.It is also taking the consequences for the mistakes and failures you make
during an assignment or position.

TASK:Mine task is to see a product and keep check it’s bar code and name as well if needed then
afterwards it’s mine responsibility that I may not send any product to a customer which is damage or
broken and I am doing with full every time I should to be care full.

ACTION:I am working in a Shopper’s Drug Mart therefore my responsibility is to check that whatever I
scan it need to be right items because in a one order there are number of products so as a quantity or
quality control I have duty to check and everything because I am always ready to take responsibilities.

REAULT:As a result now I am working there for a one year and my Supervisor appreciated me for that
many a times during work and they gave me a gift for my job that I am doing it in a good way.

ANSWER5. My biggest aspiration for me now is to work on my job so that I will do better in it in future as
I want to be tourism development director to be that I have work more on my skills as I am learning a lot
from my course with help of my professor and one day I will achieve my goal.Moreover,by having good
general knowledge to grab floating opportunities is necessary and to fulfill my dream I should be on the
path of my ideal .My aspiration is Supinder Mam she inspired me a lot to build a better future as she is
great mentor because she achieved a lot as now she is a teacher in a school and mentor too who helps
me always and from whom I has learned a lot.
