ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
The 6-week internship at IMAP Vietnam is both an opportunity and a challenge for
me. During the internship, I was exposed to a new job and learned new things from my
colleagues. It is impossible to achieve these successes without the great support of my
supervisors and colleagues who did not hesitate to help, guide, and instruct me until I
finished the internship. Therefore, I would like to express my gratitude to those who
accompanied me throughout the internship.
First and foremost, I would like to send my sincere thanks to Hanoi University of
Science and Technology in general and School of Foreign Languages in particular for
creating conditions for me to participate in the internship before completing my module
at school. The internship gave me many experiences so that I can confidently develop
myself and find new career opportunities after graduation. I would like to thank Ms.
Nguyen Thi Thuy Dung – leader of the Work Placement module for always promptly
grasping information and enthusiastically supporting us.
I would like to express my gratitude to my supervisor – Mrs. Phan Thi Thanh Ha,
who has always guided and supported us as well as given advice to us to deal with our
questions and difficulties.
I would like to thank Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Hanh, my supervisor at the company-
who always enthusiastically gave me advice and helped me during my internship. I also
would like to send my sincere thanks to the entire staff at the office for supporting me to
have a successful internship with many experienced and memorable moments.
Finally, I hope that the lessons learned along the way can help me become more
mature and steadier in the future.

CHAPTER 1: DESCRIPTION OF WORK IN THE ORGANIZATION

I had the chance to work on a variety of tasks when I was an intern there. As a
teaching assistant for Ms. Hoa Junior's English classes, I was assigned a variety of duties.
Specifically, I needed to pick up and drop-off students before and after class. In the class,
I had reponsibility of checking attendance, correcting and marking student’ homeworks,
controlling class or taking videos/photos of some activities in class. Sometimes, in class
with foreign teachers, I played a role as an interpreter – explaining the rules of games and
requirements from teachers. After each lesson, I was assigned the task of writing lesson
report about learning situation and attitude of students in class and sending it to parents’
group.
Conducting observation tasks so that I can advance my knowledge from colleague
is another duty I had throughout my internship. With the requirement of observing at least
one class a week, I had to record the lesson content and pay attention to activities,
teaching techniques, and learning environments to fulfill my experience.
Another task that I had to perform during my internship was doing supporting
task. During holidays (for example: Mid-Autumn Festival), I needed to prepare gifts for
students (stickers, lanterns, succulent pods...) and hold parties. These tasks required me to
be skillful and patient, and I had to take responsibility for everything that happens during
parties.
CHAPTER 2: EVALUATION SUCCESS
Despite all the challenges and difficulties I had throughout my internship at the
company, I was still able to accomplish several targets, which demonstrated that I had
nearly reached all of the goals that I had initially set for myself.
Firstly, I was able to participate in educational programs to learn and receive
training, which fulfilled my desire to do so to develop my pedagogical abilities. To better
comprehend and appreciate the tasks of a teaching assistant, I was able to visit
classrooms, take part in teaching skills seminors, and successfully demonstrate two live
teaching sessions in class. Additionally, the office plans a wide range of workshops,
giving interns a variety of chances to learn new things about the educational system and
show off their aptitude for handling work. Moreover, working in an office gives me the
chance to experience all of the duties required and the business invironment after
graduation. Therefore, this is a fantastic chance for me to satisfy my learning expectations
and show off all my skills and learn the new ones which I need developing to get ready
for finding a job that suits me in the future.
Second, I used all the abilities and information I acquired to work as a teaching
assistant for a variety of lessons at the Ms. Hoa Junior brand. That also implies that I have
given my time and effort to contribute the development of the business. More
specifically, I worked as a teaching assistant for three classes totaling more than 18
lessons during my internship, and I also participated in the opening ceremony of three
classes in the office.
One of my accomplishments during my internship at IMAP Vietnam was using the
new abilities I had learned to complete tasks. I performed all work allocated to me
throughout the six weeks of my internship on time and completely, and I also improved
my time management abilities. My interactions with and attitude toward my coworkers is
another indication of my accomplishment during my internship. Although finishing my
internship for three weeks, I still keep contact with my coworkers at the office and talk
about the jobs. The biggest accomplishment I had after finishing the internship was my
awareness of my situation and bravery to pursue fresh chances.

CHAPTER 3: EVALUATION CHALLENGES

Along with the successes I achieved, I also encountered many difficulties and
challenges during my internship at IMAP Vietnam. These difficulties and challenges,
though, have helped me gain valuable lessons for my future career.
The first problem that I faced through my duties was the difficulty of class
management. Some classes were very difficult to control because the students were so
energetic and they liked to share quotes, and comedy stories with each other without
listening to the lecture. Several teachers expressed their displeasure at the noise from
students and warned me that I had to control the class better. Later, after having some
serious thoughts, I understood the reason came from both my students and me. Because I
still lacked expertise in managing class and many of the students in my class were
brothers or close friends, they had more stories to share. As a result, I made the decision
to change the student seating in the classroom, break up frequent talking groups of
friends, and add extra class activities to help the students focus better during lectures. The
outcomes demonstrated that both the class and the teacher’s quality have improved.
Another challenge that I ran upon throughout my internship was how to evaluate
students that satisfied their parents. I was overwhelmed by the abrupt change in
communication style, and to perform my best work, I had to learn how to modify my tone
and address. I had to be careful when speaking with parents since some of them didn’t
enjoy the fact that their kids had incorrect behavior in class. Parents were also frequently
easily irritated by unpleasant comments. I usually sought advice from the business
advisory board in those situations where I was unsure of how to proceed, and I sincerely
appreciated how supportive my coworkers have been in helping me transform challenges
into experiences.

CHAPTER 4: IDENTIFICATION IMPACT

Intership at IMAP Vietnam is truly a great opportunity for me to develop myself
both personally and professionally.
I have personally developed and received training in several soft skills, as well as
assessing my suitability for the position. Dealing with a large number of documents and
gaming tools, I was able to develop my computing skills (Word, Excel and Powerpoint)
and learn how to use Microsoft's tools for data storage and collaboration. Working in a
professional, dynamic and creative environment, I can easily recognize my own strengths
and weaknesses, thereby offering solutions and positive changes to bring efficiency in the
work. Knowing my strengths can guide me in picking a future career path and provide me
with strategies for growing to fit the profession I choose. I was challenged with many
different roles, enhanced my existing skills such as time management skills, teamwork
skills, presentation skills, and improved my pronunciation mistakes while collaborating
with colleagues. I also learned the way of effectively communicating with different types
of customers, and to show appropriate attitude and prestige in my speech.
Professionally, I had the chance to take part in a training program for teaching
assistants and push myself into a new role. Knowledge from the training course and
observation sessions showed me that each person has a different teaching style and
method. It was easier for me to find a professional and effective teaching style by
studying teaching methods and styles and understanding classroom activities. How to
manage several tasks in a short amount of time and how to handle unforeseen situations
in the classroom were two skills that were carefully cultivated and developed during the
internship process. Developing professional pedagogical skills helped me be able to
finish tasks more optimally and effectively. I also realized that putting forth effort and
taking responsibility at work will help you be appreciated by coworkers and succeed
more readily. In a professional working environment, you must not only possess
understanding but also have a friendly, professional attitude and a constant readiness to
take on new tasks. My own professional teaching abilities, such as how to make lectures
engaging for students and how to integrate lecture material into activities, have all
increased.
With the skills and lessons during the internship process at the company, I am
entirely capable of challenging myself in different positions and fields that suit my
enthusiasm and have the potential to go further in the future.

CHAPTER 5: PROPOSE FUTURE ACTION

Professionalism and accountability are essential when working in a business
environment. However, a student's lack of training and expertise might result in a number
of mistakes during the internship process. This has an immense effect on both employee
productivity and the organization as a whole's professional attitude. As a result, I always
have clear and practical strategies for enhancing my skills and attitudes.
First and foremost, I need to develop and strengthen my current soft abilities. I
will continue to practice and refine my communication, presentation, and teaching skills
in the future to be able to perfect myself and get ready for a new voyage. I will also
frequently enhance my computer skills. In addition, I will pick up new abilities to help
me in my future work, like time management and content creation.
I came to understand that attitude is a component in success during my time
working for the company. As a result, I will constantly work on regulating my conduct
and emotions, practicing patience, and trying to present a credible and competent
appearance in my future employment. Moreover, I have the responsibility to choose a
career I love that suits my abilities and learn more about that career.
CONCLUSION
The internship has presented me with a variety of chances and difficulties, giving me
invaluable experiences that will be helpful on my forthcoming path. It would be hard to
highlight my supervisors' ardent support without mentioning how they helped me
complete the internship in the most thorough and meaningful way possible. I hope that I
will fearlessly take on additional difficulties in the future, learning from my experiences
today. Once more, I would want to convey my profound gratitude for my superiors' and
coworkers' assistance.
