LETTER TO THE READERS

Dear Readers,

I've made this portfolio so that you can learn who I'm outside of school and read what I am

learning. I want to use this file to show my work and also how I learned with other people. I can say

that one of the most important things I've learned is to grow up while doing all these projects. When

I was a freshman, the teachers stopped treating us like graders, and finally, we had to be on our

own. Teach and learn by ourselves. We have to be independent and steered in the right direction.

While reading my portfolio, you can see my progress, my growth, and my efforts.

There's a reason for everything I put in my new portfolio. Every artifact, essay, and piece of

information is either a standard (showing that I've learned what the state wanted me to do) or

something important to me. For example, I wanted everyone who reads my portfolio is to learn

something new about me, and one of the things I love is cooking.

I knew a lot about myself as a student during my first year at Southgate. The work I got back

made me see what I needed to do and my strengths. Since we have taken many projects and

assignments in each class, I must see growth in Science, Business Mathematics, P.E., Algebra 1, and,

of course, English or World History. Since I am astounded by Math and pretty good with science, I

was worried about the main class. Since I was amazed at Math and pretty good at science, the

primary sort I was anxious about that year was English/World History. When it comes to writing, I

always feel like I need to improve.

Every student has experienced at school is doing projects that entertain us and making a good

grade since the research was something we needed to learn. Furthermore, learning about things that

make us bored with every hour of class and for two or three weeks, but as 21st-century learners, I

know we have to master everything we study, even though it's not our favorite subject.
ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

Allow me to thank all the people behind this achievement of being here and for making our

OJT a possible one. First and foremost, to our Almighty God, I want to thank you for giving us

strength every day, for the guidance and good health, and blessings that help us accomplish our

tasks as part of our OJT (On the Job Training)

To my beloved family, Teresa and Rizza Valencia, my deepest gratitude and appreciation for

being with me all along the process from the very start and showing and giving your unconditional

love and never-ending support financially, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually.

To my friends, Martin Paynaganan, Sean Ona, Reyden Ribleza, Christian Blanco, and John

Kenneth Peros, I wish to thank all of these people who helped me during my OJT period with sincere

gratitude and heartfelt gratitude.

I like to give my sincerest gratitude for accommodating me here at Kwin Dragon Restaurant. I

will never forget the practical life skills that I learned here. The technical skills that I have acquired as

I did my immersion here will help me build my leverage between others.

Lastly, I extend my sincerest gratitude to Mrs. Rhoda for helping me to be here at Kwin

Dragon Restaurant. For giving me a chance to explore the real world of food industry. I have learned

a lot from you.

INTRODUCTION

A senior high school student must be absorbed in a trade organization/company whose work

conditions are related to specialization. Within this immersion, learners are exposed to and

familiarized with the work-related environment associated with their specialty. "Work immersion is a

key feature of a senior high school curriculum. It can be carried out in different ways, depending on

the aims and needs of the learners," said Leonor Briones, Secretary of Education. The guidelines

stated that work immersion – which can range from 80 to 320 hours – will enable students to become

familiar with the workplace, experience work simulation, and apply their skills in the field of

specialization.

"Work immersion will help learners develop life and career skills and prepare them to make decisions

on post-secondary education or employment," the guidelines state. "Through partnership building,

DepEd hopes that partner institutions will provide learners with opportunities for work immersion,

work experience, and additional learning resources," he continued. The Agency said that classes may

partner with approved companies or businesses to achieve work immersion agreements for students.

As learners are still minors, DepEd said that work immersion requires parental consent.

Since then, President Aquino, the different government organizations required in education, and

Congress have made K to 12 a reality rather than a mere ideal. As I looked at the standard created

by the K-12 Steering Committee on Reform, however, I suddenly realized that we had overlooked a

major gap in the system.

Our nation has had a great deal of knowledge with on-the-job training (OJT) programs at the

collegiate level. Unfortunately, many (if not several) OJT college freshmen are allowed to insignificant

jobs in a company. OJT students rarely expect to produce the same products that regular employees

produce.
Objectives of the Work Immersion

Job Training will help every student to develop life and career skills. Also, prepare them to make

decisions about post-secondary education or employment. Through partnership building, DepEd

hopes that the partner institutions will provide learners with opportunities for immersion at work,

workplace, hands-on experience, and additional learning resources. It aims to make the learners.

1. to understand the value and purpose of the principles and theories learned at school;

2. to enhance their professional knowledge and skills;

3. to improve their communication and human relations skills; and

4. to promote good working habits, attitudes, appreciation, and respect for work.

By the time students reach senior high school, they would already have acquired almost all the skills

and skills that would prepare them for their curriculum exits. Work immersion allows them to test

themselves and apply what they have learned in a non-school scenario. In the context of work

immersion, learners are not only able to apply their previous training but are also able to experience

social interactions in a work environment. Their work-immersion experience will develop many skills

and values that will help them move from high school to real life.

To assure the achievement of the above purposes of Work Immersion, this policy serves to lead

schools in:

1. Building flexible work immersion systems for learners;

2. implementing work immersion options that are related to learners' objectives and needs;

3. organizing work immersion opportunities for learners that are consistent with the diverse human

resource requirements of work immersion partner institutions; and

4. explaining the scope and boundaries of work immersion in the meaning of work immersion.

Day 1

I thought working in your chosen field would be a lot easier because you already have a background

on what you are going to do but everything that my mind expects is all wrong. Working in the real

field is like being an ignorant child, you have to adjust on the surrounding, the people around you

and everything. Mix emotion. I’m a bit nervous and exited for what will going to happen in my first

day of work immersion. I am new to everything I don’t think I would be an effective front manager

because for me I’m not yet ready. Though feeling is so overwhelming, working or having this kind of

experience, I won’t ever forget this day.

Day 2

My second day of work immersion is so tiring. I didn’t expect that I’ll be so tired of this. Maybe I’m

just new here at this environment. But I hope I’ll be fine sooner. The feeling is still tiring yet I’m so

happy because I have experience new things.

Day 5

Today is my 5th day in my work immersion, I woke up this morning feeling so happy and so excited

because it is Friday, it means that we can rest tomorrow given that its Saturday tomorrow and it’s our

rest day. I go immediately in Kwin Dragon Restaurant to do my job and to enjoy the rest of the day.

Day 6

Today is Monday my 6th day of immersion. I didn’t expect that I would be annoyed by one of my co

mates because he keeps on complaining. Like omg we all have the same work in Kwin Dragon
Restaurant and that time he’s just serving while us are getting the others orders, in my perspective

no need to complain because in the first place we have both doings.

Day7

Today is Monday my 7th day of work immersion in Kwin Dragon. I woke up in the morning feeling so

happy and vibrant but my mood swift quickly. I didn’t expect that I would be annoyed by one of my

co mates because he keeps on complaining. Like omg we all have the same work in Chateau Hotel

and that time he’s just mopping while us are cleaning dirty rooms, in my perspective no need to

complain because in the first place he always come in the hotel that makes it so unfair plus he keeps

on talking and talking, I wanna put some linens in his mouth just to make him stop. #Day7

                                                                       Day 8

                                                          October 12, 2017

This day is so tiring. I have to swift of the dust, make sure there’s no spider webs in about 6 rooms in

third floor. I badly want to complain but I don’t want to disappoint ate Jen Ja plus I think that she’s

also not in the mood I can sense that she’s fuming mad and really annoyed in her inner self because

of our lazy come mates who keeps on complaining. It is evident in her face because of the frown. So,

I just kept quit and says nothing. #Day8 #Day8Down #tiredbutblessed #WorkImmersion

                                                                          Day 9

                                                              October 12,2017

My 9th day in my work immersion in Chateau hotel, my 9th day of being a Room attendant. This is

the day that I got the courage again to tried bed make up, lucky when I try it didn’t end that bad. I’m

really thankful to ate Blessie for helping me, for giving me courage, for trusting me and for telling me
that there’s no harm in trying, it doesn’t matter if I fail at least I have tried. I wouldn’t definitely

forget her. #Day9 #Day9Down #tiredbutblessed #WorkImmersion

                                                                      Day 10

                                                            October 13, 2017

My last day of work immersion in Chateau Hotel. I am happy at a same time a little bit sad. Happy

because finally our work immersion would finally end, it means no more cleaning of comfort room for

me and I really miss going to school. Sad because I will surely miss the people who guide us in our

work immersion, the people who teach us the things that aren’t though in school. I will forever

treasure the leanings, the lessons and the memories. #Day10 #Day10Down #tiredbutblessed
