1. Why is physical education an important subject?

Physical Education is important to William Edward 'Bill' Simon Jr. because of his autistic son. For him,
with the help of Physical Education, the condition of his son improved. He stated that "every school
should provide every student with the opportunities that’ll give them a healthy start in life and also with
the education and skills that will give them a fit lifetime." He pointed out that it wasn’t given enough
attention, and it deserves to be included in the core subjects like Math, Science, English, and History. He
also indicates that students need to excel in academic courses, and exercise can help them do better in
intellectual topics.

Based on my perspective Physical Education is essential to develop students' confidence, knowledge,

and behaviors for physical activity and physical fitness. P.E also helps our body and brain with our blood
circulation and our body temperature. But for me, Physical Education should not be included in a core
subject. It is about our physical well-being and the other subjects. For example, Math works with logic,
Science requires knowledge, and English is about language and grammar. To make it simple, P.E. does
not work with academics.

2. In your own perspective, how can physical education help you personally and eventually in your
future career?

Physical Education, for me, acts as a stepping stone for us to progress and is ready for the future.
Therefore, it helps us to be better people. Physical Education, as we all know, assists us in becoming fit
and healthy. Now, we're dealing with a pandemic that tests our immune system's strength, which is why
Physical Education is so important these days. Also, Physical Education cures in the enhancement and
strengthening of our immune systems to protect against this virus.

There have been studies that suggest that Physical Education can boost a student's academic
performance. Many of the regular physical activities that kids participate in are related to greater levels
of focus and well-composed conduct. Sports activities aid in the reinforcement of knowledge gained in
other subjects.

3. what significant learning did you get after watching the presentation?

Physical Education is a subject where we can take part in and learn about physical activities. We discover
how important keeping fit is for the health of our body and mind. I learned that other people have
different perspectives about Physical Education. I realized that PE could be that important to someone
just like Mr. Bill. I became aware that Physical Education can help people who have mental disorders like
autism, anxiety, and trauma-related disorders.

PE promotes an active lifestyle. Students like me are enabled to participate in physical activity and
understand how this influences our well-being and that of others. PE can also develop teamwork,
leadership, and interpersonal skills. For example, by supporting students to work cooperatively in other
subjects. Or when working with groups in a leadership role.
