Response/s

The course contents are very relevant and applicable in enhancing my competencies as a
21st century teacher as it provides us with the latest updates, trends, and pedagogies in
education. It also helps us improves ourselves as teachers especially in the use of
technology in today’s trend of giving instruction through ICT and facilitating learning
emphasis on collaborative learning. We should also be equipped with knowledge, skills,
attitudes and values so that we could also develop it to our 21st century learners. The
significant learning insights that I gained from this course are: to promote quality education
and to create globallycompetitive learners, we, teachers, should be open to all the
modifications in this 21st century era. We should not limit ourselves for continuous
development. Also, because of this course, I realize that we should be flexible. We,
teachers, should know how to balance the responsibilities we have on our shoulders. We
must continue learning and we should not stop encouraging our learners to maximize their
full potential.

There are several challenges or difficulties that I encountered during the course. One of
these and I think is the biggest reason is time management that I really learned the hard way
during the SEAMEO. Due to a lot of demand in our teaching profession, I really have to set
time to read the modules and required readings as well as make time in making the course
requirements. Another difficulty is that when doing my class demonstration. Since the whole
Province of Iloilo is in Enhanced Community Quarantine, it is difficult to have my learners.
But because our tutor tells us to be more creative, I tap

my nieces to be my learners (even though they are only 3 of them) and bring them to my
classroom to have a true classroom atmosphere. The area that I think I need to improve on
as a 21st century classroom manager is on classroom management. This is because I have
learners who continuously abusing the good side they see in me. Though I have established
and posted What areas related to 21st Century classroom rules and regulations as well as
teaching and learning do you still need to letting them sign in anecdotal records and improve
on and why? call the attention of their parents, I am progressing slowly. On the other hand, I
think I am in good position being a 21st century teacher and a facilitator of learning.

I was once a hesitant in joining this class session since I ought to start my Doctorate Degree
in Educational Management this summer. But my colleagues forced me to attend the
orientation last 15th of January. Along the orientation, my quest for professional
development is rising. And never did I expect that I enjoyed being a flexible learner here in
SEAMEO Innotech. I was also happy to be part of Batch 2 Class 2 What can you say about
your overall experience (i.e. comment on chat, forum, under the advisory of Prof. Jocylen
Tiopes. course requirements, FLT competency, Though our chat session changed, it is no
and the online modality)? doubt that we always ended up contented with our discussion.
With regards to requirements, we were blessed to have an understanding Tutor. Amidst the
Pandemic COVID 19 that hinders us to have our “normal” classroom demonstration, she
encourages us to be creative. Over all, I was glad that I say YES in joining GURO21 under
Batch 2 Class 2. I hope to see all my classmates and our dear tutor. What are your other
comments / suggestions for improving the content coverage and future course deliveries?

For suggestion, maybe the SEAMEO management could add 2 more chat sessions to make
it into 6 chat sessions while doing the remaining course requirements so that flexible
learners will have more time in reading and reflecting as well as exchanging ideas together
in

the coverage of the course.
