12.1. OBJECTIVE:
The objectives of this lab are:
• To get familiar with SIMULINK working environment. Construction of different
models in SIMULINK. Simulate and observe the responses.

12.2. EQUIPMENT:
• Computer / laptop
• MATLAB software

12.3. MATLAB Blocks:

• Transfer Fcn: used to model the transfer function. The parameters for the
numerator and denominator are set from the properties of the block.
• Subtract: used to feed input and the previous output (feedback) to the transfer
function block.
• Step: used to obtain sampled step input.
• Ramp: used to obtain ramp input signal.

12.4. TASKS: Implement the given transfer function

12.5. DISCUSSIONS & CONCLUSIONS:
The output of a system in response to a step input is the step response of a transfer function.
Step inputs are input signals that abruptly switch from one constant value to another constant
value (zero to unity in our case). The output of a system in response to a ramp input is known
as the ramp response of a transfer function. A linear variation in the input signal over time is
known as a ramp input. The ramp response is frequently used to describe a system's dynamic
behavior, such as how it reacts to changes in the input signal. The step response is frequently
employed to describe a system's dynamic characteristics, including stability, settling time, and
overshoot. The transfer function was modelled in SIMULINK using the Transfer Fnc block,
and the Step and Ramp blocks were used to create the input signals. The results from the
transfer function were plotted using the Scope block.
All of the activities were completed correctly, and the outcomes were accurate. Using scope,
the result plots were produced. By adjusting the stop time in the SIMULATE properties panel,
the simulation's runtime might be adjusted.
