Job Purpose
An exciting and challenging opportunity to join the BA Aircraft Engineering Apprenticeship Programme
and become the future talent in aircraft engineering. The Apprenticeship is a three year programme with
direct entry to British Airways Engineering, aimed at developing you to become a professional Aircraft
Technician and assist in the delivery of a world-class engineering operation. The programme is designed
to give you a broad understanding of the engineering operation whilst gaining the qualifications you need
to become an Aircraft Technician.
Principal Accountabilities
• To learn, understand and assist in our daily engineering operation.
• Assist with ensuring our technically reliant aircraft are ready for dispatch from our terminal
operations.
• Maintain all our aircraft to an approved maintenance schedule
• Carryout routine servicing of all BA aircraft.
• Assist with any minor repairs or modifications to our or customer aircraft.
• Performance of any duties consistent with role as and when required to help department meet
their objectives.

• To successfully deepen experience/ skills/ knowledge and behaviours for the role through on-
the-job learning and completing the required formal qualifications
• Manage own time effectively in order to meet all requirements of role
• Ensure Health, Safety and Security standards are adhered to including completing of appropriate
documentation
• Being an ambassador for British Airways Apprenticeships by taking part in external and internal
events and student engagement activity
