My Dear Himadrians,
Some habits have the power to start a chain reaction,
changing other habits as they move through an
Organization. These are called Keystone Habits and
they can influence how people work, eat, play, live, spend, and
communicate. They can transform everything.
Keystone Habits say that success doesn’t depend on getting every
single thing right, but instead relies on identifying a few key
priorities and fashioning them into powerful levels.
Safety Patterns, when shifted in a certain Company, other aspects
of the Company started changing with startling speed. Rules that
Unions had spent decades opposing—such as measuring the
Productivity of individual Workers—were suddenly embraced,
because such measurements helped everyone figure out when part
of the manufacturing process was getting out of whack, posing a
Safety Risk. Policies that Managers had long resisted—such as
giving Workers autonomy to shut down a Production Line when
the pace became overwhelming were welcomed, because that was
the best way to stop injuries before they occurred.
When people start habitually exercising, even as infrequently as
once a week, they start changing other, unrelated patterns in their
lives, often unknowingly. Typically, people who exercise start
eating better and becoming more productive at work. They smoke
less and show more patience with colleagues and family. They use
their credit cards less frequently and say they feel less stressed. It’s
not completely clear why. But for many people, Exercise is a
Keystone Habit that triggers widespread change. There’s
something about it that makes other good habits easier.
Studies have documented that families who habitually eat dinner
together seem to raise children with better homework skills, higher
grades, greater emotional control, and more confidence. Making
your bed every morning is correlated with better productivity, a
greater sense of well-being and stronger skills at sticking with a
budget. It’s not that a family meal or a tidy bed causes better
grades or less frivolous spending. But somehow those initial shifts
start chain reactions that help other good habits take hold.
If you focus on changing or cultivating Keystone Habits, you can
cause widespread shifts. However, identifying Keystone Habits is
tricky. To find them, you have to know where to look. Detecting
Keystone Habits means searching out certain characteristics.
Keystone Habits offer what is known within academic literature as
“Small Wins.” They help other habits to flourish by creating new
structures and they establish cultures where change becomes
contagious by leveraging tiny advantages into patterns that
convince people that bigger achievements are within reach.

Dear Colleagues
The unfiltered rugged forest of River Island Majuli at
Assam in North East India now blooms with a lush
green forest and wildlife. It is also home to an incredible
individual the world has ever seen- the Forest Man of India. Years
of Sacrifice, Grit, and Determination of this man has created an
entire 1,360-acre forest in Assam, changing the landscape of the
state forever.
Jadav “Molai” Payeng, a tribal farmer in Assam is no less than a
resuscitator of Earth and is so humble to the core that he is still
unaware of his superlative feat.
Due to extreme poverty, Payeng’s parents left the 5-year-old child
in Anil Borthakur’s care, who was a court-master at the District
Judge Court in Jorhat.
When the heartbroken and disturbed boy went to the nearby Deori
community village, the villagers gave him the ancient native
wisdom of the villagers and that was the beginning of Payeng’s
extraordinary journey in the scorching summer of the same year-
armed with 50 seeds, 25 bamboo plants and a staunch belief that
this is what he was always destined to do.
Payeng was 39 when he married 25-year-old Binita and now has 3
children- Munmuni, Sanjiv and Sanjay.
Payeng inherited the livestock left by his deceased parents from
which he makes his living by selling milk.
This self-motivated person doesn’t lack inspiration or enthusiasm
to do something good for nature. At dawn, he cycles for an hour to
Kartik Sapori, then rows a boat for about 5 km, cycles again for 30
minutes to reach his cowshed.
On reaching cowshed, he collects the cow dung, wipes the floor,
feeds the cows and milks them. While all the dung becomes
manure and goes into fertilizing the forest, the milk becomes ready
for sale. A quick breakfast and Payeng walks into his jungle. His
family helps him in the process.
In 2015, the former late President APJ Abdul Kalam bestowed him
with Padma Shri Award and prize money in Mumbai, which he
gladly used for the welfare of the villagers in the area.
He also became one of the 900 experts to gather at the Seventh
Global Conference of the International Forum for Sustainable
Development at Evian in France. Further, the Sanctuary Asia gave
him the Wildlife Service Award for his extraordinary contribution
to nature.
Payeng refuses to see the Earth in any other colour apart
from Green. Recognition and Awards matter very little to this man
for whom all the trees now give a standing ovation, thanking him
for giving them life.

The Chernobyl Accident
The Chernobyl Accident in 1986 was the result of a
flawed Reactor design that was operated with
inadequately trained personnel. It was a Catastrophic
nuclear accident at the No. 4 Nuclear Reactor in
Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant near the city of Pripyat in the
north of the Ukrainian SSR. There were two heavy and successive
Explosions that released huge amount of energy rupturing the
reactor pressure Vessel. From the second to tenth day after the
Accident, some 5000 tonnes of boron, dolomite, sand, clay, and
lead were dropped on to the burning core by helicopter in an effort
to extinguish the blaze and limit the release of radioactive
particles.
The Accident caused the largest uncontrolled radioactive release
into the environment ever recorded for any civilian operation and
large quantities of radioactive substances were released into the air
for about 10 days. The resulting steam explosion and fires released
at least 5% of the radioactive reactor core into the atmosphere and
downwind – some 5200 PBq. Two Chernobyl Plant workers died
on the night of the Accident, and a further 28 people died within a
few weeks as a result of acute radiation poisoning.

Health Effects of the Chernobyl Accident
According to an UNSCEAR report in 2018, about 20,000 cases of
thyroid cancer were diagnosed 1991-2015 in patients who were 18
and under at the time of the Accident. Thyroid Cancer is usually
not fatal if diagnosed and treated early; the report states that of the
diagnoses made between 1991 and 2005 (6,848 cases).10 square
kilometres of forest close to the Plant were killed by the high
radiation levels, but regeneration got underway from the following
year. The net environmental effect of the Accident has been much
greater biodiversity and abundance of species.
Chernobyl Unit 4 Containment
Chernobyl Unit 4 was enclosed in a large concrete shelter which
was erected quickly (by October 1986) to allow continuing
operation of the other Reactors at the Plant. However, the structure
is neither strong nor durable. The New Safe Confinement (NSC)
structure was completed in 2017, having been built adjacent and
then moved into place on rails.
Resettlement of areas from which people were relocated is
ongoing. In 2011 Chernobyl was officially declared as a tourist
attraction.

Friendship
A friend in need is a Friend Indeed. A man who
stands by his friend in adversity is a true friend.
True Friendship stands on selfless Love. True
Friends share each other’s Joy and Sorrow, Pain and
Pleasure. They do not fall off in adversity nor do they ever betray
each other. They have full confidence in each other.
Whilst Prosperity makes friends Adversity tries them. A Selfless
Friend is a Blessing; a selfish friend is a Curse. The first is an
Angel and the second is a Devil. One makes your career while the
other mars it. A true friend foregoes pleasure and convenience for
the sake of the other. He goes out of his way and faces difficulties
in his way with joy and even with pride to help the other.
If we keep few things in our mind, it shouldn’t be difficult to make
friends. The first is to start Relationship with right expectations.
Don’t expect too much. If you start with utopian hopes, the
relationship is likely to flounder. For anyone to fulfil your
expectation, they need to understand what is expected of them.
This understanding takes time. Beside, expectations are always
two-sided, so having low expectations ensures the same from
others. One of the drawbacks of starting a friendship with high
expectations is that at every step, you start judging the person and
his actions. There is a constant dialogue going on in your mind
where you are trying to judge if the person is fitting into your
definition of a friend.
A selfish friend is Rich in words and Poor in Deeds. He talks tall
but when you are in trouble, he leaves you in the lurch. He does
not love you; he only loves your riches and seeks ways how to
enjoy that only to his benefit. You give him a Loan of money; you
will lose not only the loan but also your friendship into the
bargain.
A friend in need is the elixir of life. He stands by us through thick
and thin, in weal and woe. He is a source of Joy and Inspiration.
A friend in need is a true guide. He is always loyal and faithful.
He is never a victim of misunderstanding. He is neither a flatterer
nor a yes man. He is open and plain. If his friend goes wrong, he
will openly tell him that he should desist from such a course. A
true friend is a scathing critic in constructive way.
In any relationship and especially in friendship, it is important to
communicate clearly what you are feeling. Honest communication
leads to the right expectations. Always speak frankly about the
way you feel. This ensures that your friend understands who you
are and not the image that he/she might have created in his/her
mind. It also ensures that there is complete acceptance and trust in
the Relationship.
Lucky is the man who has a True Friend - a friend in need and
amidst diversity as well.

World Environment Day
World Environment Day is celebrated annually on 5th June across
the World. Our Company always advocate Green Environment
and Preservation of Nature. The Technology used in our
Manufacturing Unit also supports Green Environment. We are
highly the promoters of Green India; our production units are
well equipped with latest Machines and Equipment that consume less water
and energy, which preserve nature, water and the environment ultimately.
World Environment Day, 2019 has been hosted by China, with a theme of
"Air Pollution". We can't stop breathing, but we can do something about the
quality of air that we breathe.
Air Pollution Facts:
 92 per cent of people worldwide do not breathe clean air
 Air pollution costs the global economy $5 trillion every year in
welfare costs
 Ground-level ozone pollution is expected to reduce staple crop
yields by 26 per cent by 2030
 Approximately 7 million people worldwide die prematurely each
Year from Air Pollution; out of these 4 Million people die in Asia
Pacific alone.
Five Reasons as to why we should care about Air Pollution
Recent research has started to shed light on some rather worrisome aspects of
what the air around us really contains, and how it affects our bodies. And the
more we learn, the more we come to realize that the planet needs some serious
care to be taken. Without air, there can be no life but breathing polluted air
condemns us to a life of disease and early death.
1. Polluted Air is creating a Health Emergency
There is no doubt today that air pollution is a global public Health Emergency.
It threatens everyone from unborn babies to children walking to school, to
women cooking over open fires.
On the street and inside the house, the sources of air pollution can be very
different, yet their effects are equally deadly: asthma, other respiratory
illnesses and heart disease are among the adverse health effects known to be
caused by polluted air.
According to the World Health Organization, every year around 7 million
premature deaths are attributable to air pollution—a staggering 800 people
every hour or 13 every minute. Overall, air pollution is responsible for more
deaths than many other risk factors, including malnutrition, alcohol use and
physical inactivity.
2. Most Children are at Risk
Globally, 93 per cent of all children breathe air that contains higher
concentrations of pollutants than the World Health Organization (WHO)
considers safe to human health. As a result, 600,000 children die prematurely
each year because of air pollution. As if that were not enough, exposure to
dirty air also harms brain development, leading to cognitive and motor
impairments, while at the same time putting children at greater risk for chronic
disease later in life.
Household air pollution is particularly harmful to women and children. About
60 per cent of household air pollution-related deaths globally are among
women and children, and more than half of all pneumonia deaths in children
under five can be attributed to indoor air pollution.

3. Pollution and Poverty go-hand-in hand
Air Pollution goes to the heart of social justice and global inequality,
disproportionately affecting poor people.
Clean cooking and heating fuels and technologies are out of reach for
low-income families, so polluting alternatives are the norm. About 3
billion people depend on burning solid fuels or kerosene to meet
household energy needs and 3.8 million of them will die each year from
exposure to these pollutants.
Crowded cities and trafficked suburbs are hotspots for outdoor air
pollution. According to the World Health Organization, 97 per cent of
cities in low- and middle-income countries with more than 100,000
inhabitants do not meet the minimum air quality levels. Around 4 million
of the approximately 7 million people who die from air pollution-related
diseases every year live in the Asia-Pacific region.
4. The Cheaper the Fuels, the Higher the Costs
When people get sick, the entire community suffers. Ill people require
medical care and medicine, children skip school and working adults miss
days of work, either as a result of their own poor health, or to care for a
loved one. According to the World Bank, air pollution costs the global
economy more than US$5 trillion every year in welfare costs and $225
billion in lost income.
A 2016 study by the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and
Development predicts that, if the situation remains unchanged, by 2060,
the annual global welfare costs of premature deaths from outdoor air
pollution would be US$18-25 trillion, with the costs of pain and suffering
from illness estimated at around US$2.2 trillion.
There are other less direct costs, which nonetheless affect us globally.
Ground-level ozone is expected to reduce staple crop yields by 26 per
cent by 2030, creating food scarcity and nutrition challenges.
UN Environment’s sixth Global Environment Outlook estimates that
climate mitigation actions for achieving the Paris Agreement targets
would cost about US$22 trillion. Meanwhile, by reducing air pollution,
we could save US$54 trillion in combined health benefits. The arithmetic
is clear: acting now against air pollution translates into saving US$32
trillion.
5. The Right to Clean Air is a Human Right
The right to a healthy environment enjoys constitutional status—the
strongest form of legal protection is available—in more than 100
countries. At least 155 states are legally obligated, through treaties,
constitutions and legislation, to respect, protect and fulfil the right to a
healthy environment.
The right to clean air is also embedded in the Universal Declaration of
Human Rights and the International Covenant on Economic, Social and
Cultural Rights, and fully enshrined in the Sustainable Development
Goals—the global blueprint for Peace and Prosperity.
