Teenage Pregnancy

Many teenagers have given birth at a young age or during a teenage pregnancy in recent

years. This problem must fall into poverty. This problem is not decreasing; it is continuously

increasing over time. Adolescent pregnancies are a global problem, occurring in high-, middle-,

and low-income countries. The Philippine Development Plan from 2017–2022 targets a birth

rate of 37 births per 1,000 people, while Pop Com said that it is aiming for a reduction of

teenage births by half, using the baseline of 57 percent of teen births in the 2013 National

Demographic Health Survey to 20 percent by 2022. (Mendoza,2022).Around the world,

however, adolescent pregnancies are more likely to occur in marginalized communities,

commonly driven by poverty and a lack of education and employment opportunities.

(Ganchimeg, et al., pp. 40–80).

First, early childbirth may have negative health consequences and pose a risk to the

country's economic prosperity. Pregnant teenagers are less likely to complete higher education

and have a lower lifetime earning potential, resulting in economic costs for the country. (Zorilla,

2021).Prioritize your studies first, find a stable job, and save money before planning to start a

family. It isn't bad to have a child, but we need to think first about the future of your child or

family when you don't have a stable life, no supply, no savings, or stable work .Extreme poverty

and being the son or daughter of an adolescent mother are risk factors for repeating the early

pregnancy model. (Sultan, 2021, pp. 302–331).You should first think that you're not the only one

facing difficulties, but your child too. Inadequate education, more families, difficulties in the

maternal role, abandonment by the partner, fewer chances of having a stable, qualified, and well-

paying job, greater difficulty in improving their socioeconomic level, lower likelihood of social

advancement, and lack of child protection. The long-term consequences include lowered
educational achievement, medical complications, higher subsequent fertility, low labor force

participation, reduced earnings, a lifetime of economic stress and limited opportunity, and

marital failure (Sultan, 2021, pp. 302–331).It is a time to build a family, and it is that time when

you are stable financially and physically. Studying first must be okay because it can help you

find a good job, have a stable salary, or get a good salary. Teenage moms and dads not only

support the needs of their children but the parents of teenagers too. (Pecorino, et al., 1987, pp.

27–59). Teen age pregnancy, without enough money, was really hard as long as your child really

need a monthly check-up, milk, and others. Because having a kid at the age 14-18 was hard for

them. And there is some teenager who was pregnant and there’s no work because they don’t

enter in school for the reason of having a kid.

Second, for unmarried pregnant adolescents, this may include stigma, rejection, or

violence by partners, parents, and peers. Girls who become pregnant before the age of 18 are

more likely to experience violence in a marriage or partnership. (Raja, 2013). This is the second

problem that teenagers or some unmarried couples are experiencing with their partners right

now. Many teenagers' parents are separating from this problem. The children are pitiful. They

haven't experienced the complete family if it happened. When neither of the parents was ready,

the teenager's parents may have devised a bad way to hide the child, which is illegal. Teen ager

needed a proper guidance at only to their parents but also to their school. The teachers and

especially the Guidance Counselor were responsible for this proper Guidance. The Guidance

Counselors is responsible for the students/pupils to spend their time. To give them enough

knowledge and values on “Teen Age Pregnancies” to know what is the effect on it.

Lastly, adolescents (ages 10–19 years) face higher risks of eclampsia, puerperal end

metritis , and systemic infections than women aged 20 to 24 years, and babies of adolescent
mothers face higher risks of low birth weight, preterm delivery, and severe neonatal conditions

(Kozuki et al., 2013). Also, if the pregnant child is less than a month old or small. When the

teenager is too young, the child may be malnourished or unhealthy. Of course, when a teenager's

mom was smoking or drinking alcoholic beverages, the child would be affected in the womb.

For my own opinion about Teen age Pregnancy. Teen ager was very excited to raise and

having own family. To have an own family is a big responsibility, but they don’t know that.

They don’t know how’s really hard to have a child crying because they was hunger, they was

thirst and they wanted to buy some toys that they like. For that they don’t how to live life without

money, without work, and without proper guidance. I know how’s really hard because I saw my

parents woke-up every morning, to raise money. My parents is a hardworking person, they go

out 5am in the morning and they go back 6pm in the evening. My parents always say to us “it’s

really hard to have a family without money”. So you may study hard and to have a permanent

work for your future and for your own family later in life. That’s why I don’t have a boyfriend

because I really want to graduate for the sake of my family later in life.

At my age, I wanted to share how important life, how important education. And there

have time to have own family. All they need for now is too focused on their study not to their

own needs. Because later in life they know how’s the meaning of Family. Family is very

important; Family is our first school, in our parents is our first teacher they give proper guidance

to us for you to know, what is right to do and what is not . Maybe some teenager was they don’t

have a proper guidance to their parents, so they don’t feel the care and love of the parents. And

maybe because their parents was busy in own work, or maybe there have a broken family.
