Integrated Watershed Management Planning

An Integrated Watershed Management Plan or “IWMP” is a long-term action plan to manage land, water and related resources on a watershed basis. IWMPs
are developed cooperatively by watershed residents, all levels of government and stakeholders. In Manitoba, conservation districts lead the planning process
once designated as the Water Planning Authority under the Water Protection Act. Manitoba Sustainable Development provides a $25,000 planning grant along
with a watershed pplanner to aid in the development
p of an IWMP. CDs fund the implementation
p of the p
plan through
g core operating
p gg grants and byy securing
