EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Warapoka Eco tourism were birthed in 2016. This initiative was to
introduced to village council and residents at village generals
meeting and stake holder’s gatherings. The executive board was
formed with eight persons; these persons includes a secretary,
tourism manager, treasurer and committee members. Training and
capacity building were done in areas of Accounting & Financial
management, Tour guiding, Culinary, birding, management and
hospitality.

BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION OF THE PROJECT


There is a 450 ft. swamp land located at the source of Warapoka source, this
way leads to the harpy eagle nesting site and farmland for villagers. During
the rainy seasons and high tides, guest and farmers would often find it
difficult to cross the swamp. The beneficiaries of this project would include
School children, farmers and guest. A total of 275 people find it difficult
walking a crossing the swamp of the Warapoka creek source. The harpy eagle
nesting site is one of the main tourist attraction for the tour packaged, this site
however is located over the source of the creek, once this bridge is build
tourist can have a safe access to nesting site. The group is most uniquely and
suited to address the need because of the experience, skills, knowledge of the
environment, trained ability and capacity, and makes representation for the
village.

Organizational or Group Information

Warapoka Eco tourism was birthed in 2016. This initiative was

of Warapoka E co tourism is to preserve our lilihood through
promoting. The purpose of the project is to enhance sustainable
livelihood, provide employment, improve community development and
enhance safety of guest to cross the source of the creek. The project is
serving the people of Warapoka village for the past six years when it
was birthed. Due to change of prizes of commodities, flooding,
pandemic, all lead to low level of guest to the community which puts the
business to a great disadvantage. The bridge to cross the Warapoka
creek source to access the harpy eagle nesting, additional training of
staff, install communication service to the lodge, constructing resting
sheds/Area for guest are all need of the community package at the
moment. The business has assist pensioners, health emergency,
Teachers, health workers and other residents who are in need or
assistance. The packaged of Warapoka tourism includes Tarpon fishing,
Birding, , Night spotting of wildlife, shrimp fishing, Craft/ Cultural
presentation, canoeing, village tour example story telling of shellmoung,
grinding surface rocks, etc. Coffee/ cassava processing in the Warrau
tradition way, heart of palm harvesting, candle wax making,
Storytelling of rocks/caves, high lightening of herbal heritage and
singing of songs in Warrau at the primary school with guest. Some
success of the village is as follows:

Dear Mr. Pare,

On the behalf of Warapoka Eco tourism, I am summiting


the following proposal on the construction of a bridge at the
source of Warapoka creek that leads to farm lands and the
harpy nesting site. This project will aim to provide a safe
access to farmlands and guest to reach the harpy eagle
nesting site. We are located in Guyana, south America,
Region 1, Barima Waini. Our main purpose is to promote
eco-tourism within our region and community as a whole.
We will be very grateful for your support to construct our
bridge.
