1. Memory Game
Oink-oink, says the piggy bank! Blends are a combination of two sounds, like in the words
oink and bank! Try to spot things around you that end with -nk, like a sink, a pen's ink, a fish
tank, or something that's pink. So let's get started, think think think!
2. Watering Plants
Blends are a combination of two sounds. Play a game of pictionary the next time your child
has a friend over! Give them a word which ends with a blend (like ring, nest, ant, wolf, etc.)
and ask one of them to draw it out, while the other child guesses. Ask them to take turns and
keep score!
3. Blends Around Us
Find the following things with end blends in your house: sink, plant, lamp, shelf, mask, and
list Point your child towards them one by one. They must name them, after which they do an
action using that object! Example, shelf: your child opens it, mask: your child wears it.

such as stomping. This is action B. Have people sit in a circle. Every round, assign actions in a
random pattern like ABAB, AABA, ABBA etc. Let your child start and have everyone follow
with their actions.
2. Garden Patterning
While out on a stroll, have your child collect different objects—twigs, pebbles, leaves etc.
Arrange them in different repeating patterns. For example, a twig followed by a pebble and a
leaf. Ask your child to guess the pattern. Encourage them to extend the pattern. Repeat with
a different order.
3. Bathroom Patterns
Bathrooms tiles are a great place to see patterns of colour and shapes. While bathing your
child, have them search for patterns. They can look at the tiles on the walls and the floor.
