STUDENT REFLECTION 10

The Importance of Rule 14 "Head-on Situation" It is the rule that you will follow if you are in a

head-on situation to avoid a possible collision. This rule will be followed when power-driven vessels meet

on reciprocal or nearly reciprocal courses, posing a risk of collision; additionally, if she is unsure whether

such a situation exists, she will assume that it does. exist and behave accordingly. Yes, this rule is enforced

in the Philippines because it helps interisland seafarers avoid a head-on collision and also helps to reduce

accidents at sea. And my suggestion for reducing maritime disasters in the Philippines is to follow the

COLREGS to avoid accidents at sea.
