Documentary: Pink Tax

Podcast: Death of the High Street

Documentary Concept:
For my documentary I have decided to do the topic Pink Tax. Within
this I am going to look into the marketing and pricing for male and
female products, especially skin care and products such as anti-aging
creams and treatments. I am going to look at these as my target
audience is 35 plus; many people around that age start looking into
anti-aging treatments. I am going to research and investigate into the
pricing differences in products targeted towards men compared to
products targets towards women. I want to be able to inform the
audience not only about the pricing difference but why there is a
pricing difference. I am also going to look into the marketing of
products, whether there are more products marketed towards woman
that there are men. I am going to interview a girl who has worked in
Superdrug for a few years, I am going to speak to her to see if she has
ever noticed a different in prices for male and female products and
whether there is a reason for it.

Podcast Concept:
For my podcast I have decided to do the topic Death of the High
Street. In this topic I am I going to investigate into the decrease of
high street stores. I want to find out whether there is a big decrease in
stores and what is causing them to close down, I am also going to
look into whether the rise of online shopping, especially in lockdown,
has a correlation with the shrinking popularity of going into stores and
shops. During the peak of Covid-19, where a large population of the
globe went into lock down, all shops and stores had to shut for a
period of time; I am going to research into the effects that had on high
street stores to see if that adds the closing of stores. I am going to
interview a shop owner to talk to her about her experiences with
owning a shop, and if lock down has had an effect of her shop.
Why am I producing this documentary?
I have decided to produce this documentary because the topic is
something that really interests me but also, I think it is a topic that
isn’t spoken about enough. I think it is an important topic that more
people need to be educated on as there can be an unfair pricing
differences on products that are exactly the same except one is based
at woman and one is based at men.

Why am I producing this podcast?

I have decided to produce this podcast because I believe it is quite an
interesting topic and it is something that I have never really seen any
productions about that topic. The topic really interested me because I
was able to learn more about it as well as educate the audience.
