that allow the creation and sharing of
information, ideas, interests and other forms of
expression. With the growing of social media, it
has also led to the growth of influencers, many
companies use influencers with big platforms to
promote their business with the idea that the
influencers followers will invest into them. With
how big social media has grown almost anyone
can become an influencer, once they have built
a large following, many people are swayed by
the lavish lifestyle influencers promote which
could add to why the number of influencers is

Since the increase of social media, the profit


that can be made from influencing has
skyrocketed. Influencer Molly Mae at 22 has a
net worth of 2 million in 2022. She found fame
from the reality TV show Love Island and since
then has become an influencer on many
different platforms such as YouTube and
Instagram. Through her social media fame, she
has bagged herself collaborations with PLT and
from her collection alone she made £500,000.

Social media influencers are a big part of


spreading information for different network.
They inform their followers on their platform of
new products, new development, and even
news. Different from advertisement that are
designed to inform, the information comes
from the individual influencer.
The idea of influencers as part of a marketing
strategy is not novel. Instead of the rise of
social media and the internet, in general, it has

influencers, sometimes with a massive online
audience. In some cases, 'Influencers' do not
even 'influence' anything it is more to do with
traditional marketing and paid promotions.

Contingency Plan
What are your plans for if something goes wrong? What back up actors, locations and
equipment do you have?

If the student at Henley college Izzy, is not able to participate in an interview then I know
another person who attends Henley college, Daniella, that would be able to be interviewed
about their use of social media. If I am not able to interview Izzy in a classroom I could use
the green room on rotherfeild.
