Just to give you a short introduction:

Terry Fox was a Canadian who is now respected as a National Hero and the most popular in Canada. He was diagnosed
with Osteogenic Sarcoma (Bone Cancer) and had his right leg amputated at the age of 18. He was so pained by the
suffering he saw in the hospital of the other Cancer patients, especially children, he decided to raise money and awareness
for Cancer research through a run he did across Canada and thus began a journey called “Marathon of Hope”. He died
soon after, but an annual event came into existence to commemorate his efforts, known as the “Terry Fox Run”.

The Terry Fox Committee in Mumbai has hosted a Run for the past 21 years for school children and also individuals and
groups come together to raise money in Terry Fox’s name. Last year, nearly 8000 school children and other individuals
participated in the run and a collection of Rs. 2 Crore was generated to support the Tata Memorial Hospital like every
year.

As Dr. Shripad Banavali of the Tata Memorial Hospital (Pediatric Ward) said:

“ 22 years ago only 2 out of 10 children used to go back home…………. Today 20 years later, 8 children out of 10 go back
home with the advancements in research made by the Tata Memorial Hospital through the monies donated by the Terry
Fox Run”.

should be made and distributed to students to fill and collect donations for Cancer Research.
3. The money from the students is collected by the teachers and handed over to the head of the Institution.
