 Students will express their thoughts about any villain any movie chosen by the teacher by using like/dislike
and using some adjectives which are included in the unit.
 Students will evaluate each other’s opinions about the characters of any movie they will choose by using I
think/From my point of view/In my opinion in 20 minutes.
 Each student will describe their favorite movie character and explain why they love them by especially
using the adjectives they are taught in at least 2 at most 3 minutes.

A brief tutorial about the topics and the activities, cooperative learning as groups. As for the FLE methods, Direct
method will be used by asking questions constantly to students and making them interact with each other and
expecting complete and clear answers in the target language. So, it can be said it is a participative and interactive
method.
Λ Teaching Activities [ASSURE (Utilize Technology, Media, and Materials and Require Learner
Participation)]
 With flashcards and infographic cards, vocabulary is aimed to be taught.
 A video in which there are cut scenes from Transformers 3 will be shown to comment on and analyze the
villain Sentinel Prime.
 By matching the antonyms of the relevant adjectives, a matching exercise will be done.
 A video from Powtoon will be shown as an introduction of adjectives.
Λ Individual Learning Activities Students will choose a movie and analyze the characters
in that movie. Then, they will discuss the characters in
terms of being good or evil, outlook etc. and so that they
will learn to use state opinions. Also, they are expected
to find new and more complex adjectives to describe
movies and characters. So that, vocabulary is aimed to
be developed.

Λ Group Learning Activities As a group activity, there will be a discussion about any
movie students will choose. Also, there will be a
questionnaire in which teacher asks students questions
constantly and expects complete and clear answers and
this questionnaire will continue until students can
answer properly and fluently.
Λ Summary
Our unit is about movies and in the present, movies really attract so many people. People almost always discuss
characters and the content of movies. So, here, we aim to teach phrases to state opinions, some essential adjectives
to describe movie and their characters. Also, in this lesson, our main focus is speaking which we will do by using
Direct Method. Pronunciation is also essential to us. We will use some handouts in which there are so brief
explanations about the relevant topics. To talk about pronunciation, Cambridge Online Dictionary will be used
throughout the semester.

In the first lesson, students will be shown a Powtoon video for introduction. Then, some handouts will be given in
which there are summary for the content of the lesson. After teaching the content, with Direct Method, the teacher
will ask questions constantly and make students speak, so that they will comprehend the topics and vocabulary.
After finishing the practice part directed by the teacher, students will be expected to practise more what they
learned. They will choose a movie and analyze it in detail, they will discuss movies and characters (more information
for these activities are above.) Finally, they will make a presentation and so that the teacher will see how much they
learned.

For backup plan, in case time is out before finishing the topic, teacher will give a make-up lesson or students will
make the discussion part on Zoom under the teacher’s leadership.
