II. PROGRAM TITLE

A PROJECT PROPOSAL TO CONDUCT “LIVING IN A GREENER
TRASH-FREE AND ABSOLUTELY SAFER SOCIETY PROGRAM”

III. RATIONALE
Our environment plays an important role in healthy living and the existence of life on
earth. People and other beings depend on the environment to sustain each life for survival
because Earth is our home whom we acquire food, air, water and other needs. Thus, proper
care is needed in order to save and protect our environment and ourselves as well.
Healthy environment supports healthy life. However, various threats such as pollution
and a warming climate are putting dangers to the environment that we should care the most.
Sadly, these threats were brought about by humans and will only be resolved by humans
themselves.
Thus, the YES-O (Youth for Environment in School Organization) is an organization
that aims to protect the health, safety and well-being of everyone especially the learners
through caring for the environment. The organization also aim to protect and conserve the
environment through the establishment of learner support systems that shall facilitate the
“Living in a Greener Trash-Free & Absolutely Safer Society Program (LIGTAS)” that will
conduct various activities to care and conserve the environment.
The success of the activity will be made possible with the help and approval of the
school head, Schools Division Superintendent, teachers and parents.

IV. PROJECT OBJECTIVES

These activities aim to attain the following:

1. Promote, conduct and implement greening programs in coordination with the

DENR and its subsidiaries offices
2. Restore our endangered biodiversity and to provide carbon sink to mitigate
the effects of global warming and climate change.
3. Increase awareness in protecting the mother Earth and involvement of
environmental issues.

 4. Ensure proper solid waste management such as waste segregation, recycling
entrepreneurship and plastic-free environment.
5. Instill environmental consciousness and social responsibility among learners.

Part I. Pre-Implementation
INTERNATIONAL DAY OF DISASTER RISK REDUCTION MANAGEMENT
 Meeting with Science Teachers
 Formulation and submission of project proposal to the Office of the Principal
and to the Division Office for approval
 Creating connection and coordination from the DRRM to serve as resource
speaker for the symposium
 Meeting with YES-O officers and members.
 Coordinate with the school DRRM coordinator.
 Preparation of the materials needed for the activity

GLOBAL WARMING AND CONSCIOUSNESS WEEK

 Meeting with Science, Mathematics and English Teachers
 Formulation and submission of project proposal to the Office of the Principal
and to the Division Office for approval
 Creating connection and coordination from the DENR to serve as resource
speaker for the symposium
 Meeting with YES-O officers and members.
 Preparation of the materials needed for the activity

ZERO WASTE MONTH
