Individual Assignment (Weightage: 20 marks)

CLO: Analyze business implications of macroeconomic disequilibrium and stabilization policies

Objective of Individual Assignment:


To assess the ability of the student to analyze the business implications of domestic macroeconomic
disequilibrium/issues and stabilization policies (fiscal as well as monetary) as reported in print
media.

Guidelines:
1. This is individual task, i.e., each student has to submit the reports.
2. Select 5 news items from printed edition of ‘The Economic Times’. News item must be related to
domestic (specific to India) macroeconomic disequilibrium/issues which have some business
implications. News item should be related either to entire economy or to one or multiple
sectors/industries. It implies, company-specific news items should not be selected for analysis.
3. News items should be selected from 1 st September 2022 or later editions of ‘The Economic
Times’.
4. Take picture of the selected news items by using your smart phone.
5. Insert the pictures of the news items in your write-up (page 2) and mention the name of
newspaper, date of publication and page number below the inserted picture.
6. Analyze the business implications of domestic macroeconomic disequilibrium/issues and
stabilization policies (monetary as well as fiscal) as reported/mentioned/reflected in the news
item. You must support your analysis with relevant data.
7. Write the conclusions of your analysis and give your suggestions, separately for each news item.
At the end create a combined file containing all 5 and submit it.

Structure of Report:
Page 1: Common cover page (as circulated by PMC)
Page 2: Title and picture/image of each news item
Page 3/4: (i) Analysis, (ii) Conclusions and Suggestions of each news item

Submission guidelines
1. There will be one submission containing five news items and its analysis
2. Report should be prepared and submitted in a single MS Word file.
3. Report should be submitted on Moodle.
4. Analysis and suggestions should be written in student’s own language; it should not be a
copy & paste.
5. Last date for submission of the report on Moodle is 18th January 2023.
