ABSTRACT

Intenet society or netizen is a combination of the designation of citizen and the internet. The term of
"citizen of the net" is then shortened to the word of netizen. Indonesian netizen have some uniqueness
that differ from others. Throughout 2020th , Microsoft announced the politeness level of internet users
throughout Asia, including Indonesia. The latest Digital Civility Index (DCI) reported that the level of
digital courtesy of internet users in Asia when communicating in the world is on the lowest rank in
Southeast Asia. Indonesian netizen are the most impolite users in this region. Sometimes in some cases
Indonesian netizen are also likely to take care of celebrity life, or even interfering them without knowing
the real fact. They always jump to a certain conclusions, because there is no correct news, so most events
occur rapidly. On the other hand, it seems that the term "united we stand, divided we fall" became
popular because Indonesian netizen always attack together. The writer did this research with a cellphone
to explore and search the world of social media, and only with one post. 40 of 93 comments responded
blasphemely without searching the real chronology. On this research the writer also found 5 of 93 netizen
discussed the existing posts and 6 of 93 people discussed off the topic. Therefore, the writer wanted to
make the Indonesian aware of the importance of politeness on social media because it is so essential to
keep the world society viewpoint toward the Indonesian.
