Bethany Hamilton

Even though Bethany Hamilton faced a big obstacle such as losing

her left arm, she overcame it with faith, hope and strength, and continued
doing what she loved, surfing. First, due to a surfing accident, she lost her left
arm. At the age of 13 as a rising surf star, Bethany lost her left arm to a tiger
shark. Underwent several surgeries, she was stabilized, but with a radical
change in her body. It seemed to be the end of her dream career. However,
Bethany’s foundation of faith and determination have been her backbones to
continue against that tormented obstacle. One month after the attack, she
started practicing surfing again. In spite of the big obstacle, she became a great
surfer. She won the Explorer Women's division at the 2005 NSSA National
Championships and won the T & C Surf Women's Pipeline in 2007. In 2016,
she beat a six-time world champion and the top-ranked surfer in the world.
Eventually, she touches and inspires lives globally as a professional surfer,
author, and motivational speaker. She motivates to do documentaries about her
story. She wrote “Be Unstoppable: The art of never giving up”. Also, Bethany is
a sought-after public speaker. She is motivating audiences worldwide to live
their life with more tenacity, courage, faith, and yearn for a better life. In short,
Bethany’s story teaches us that even facing big obstacles, you can do
what you love and inspired other´s lives. She was never defeated by them.
