1. What is your dream job?

My dream job is to be Civil Engineer. Why a Civil Engineer because I want to help build sturdy and
stable infrastructures that would cater to the needs and welfare of my co-Filipinos and just like that I also want
to be of influence to them that a dream could be a reality if we just put prayer, diligence, patience and
perseverance in the making and with this I want to help build the hope of Filipinos for a better tomorrow.

2. What is your ideal working environment?

My ideal working environment is BEST.
B for Balance. I want to be able to do my best at work while being able to attend to myself, to my family and to
others.
E for Effective Communication. I want my workplace to be one where everyone has the chance to speak up,
share ideas and be heard because I believe with this, not only will they meet the company goals but also
build the unity of the company itself.
S for Supportive. A working environment should be a place where we show support and not competition with
one another for the main purpose of our work is to provide what’s best for the people not what will
make us look or appear best for others.
T is for Training. I believe that this is a must in every workplace. It is the vitamins that will keep the company
and its workers thriving even with the changes that occur with the economy and society. We must
always be ready and to be that, we must always have the room to train and grow.

3. Based on your chosen career, how do you see yourself five years from now?
I could see myself being able to help my co-Filipinos build more hopes and dreams through the
infrastructures that I was able to build. I, now learn to value the essence of prayer, diligence, patience,
perseverance and cooperation as I develop them while working with others in the field. I then have a wider
perspective about life and have more good plans for the welfare and economic and societal development of the
Philippines especially of Ubay, my dearest hometown. Lastly, I am not just a Civil Engineer by name and
profession but a Civil Engineer by heart and passion with the aim to help build the future of our nation.

4. What are your future aspirations, and how do you plan to achieve them?
My future aspirations are to graduate with my studies and be able to work in an industry I am
passionate about where I could develop and grow through my experiences through the different tasks and
challenges I meet, learn from my superior and colleagues from the field and be able to of help to my company,
my colleagues and to my country. I know these are way many steps to go but with this one step I take by
studying well and never stopping myself from dreaming, I am sure those future aspirations are very possible
to make.

5. What is the most important thing you have learned in your life which could affect in your chosen career?
The most important thing I have learned from my childhood that would affect my chosen career would
be optimism. As it has the magic to make almost every single thing possible. With optimism, one would always
have the thought of every positive things everyday life could bring and this would greatly help me with my
career. Thinking that not all days may be good for me and stress, struggles and challenges may obstruct me but
being a positive thinker would help me get through all of it and that at the end of the day, what counts is not
whether I had bad or good experiences but that those experiences are what made me who I am today.

6. How do you demonstrate yourself as an empowered woman when you become a (chosen career) someday?
I can demonstrate myself as an empowered woman when I become a Civil Engineer someday by being a
woman of confidence who has the ability to make her own choices, especially in the field of engineering, and be
the influence to bring change not just to herself but to the whole world and a woman of self-worth who knows
her purpose and goals in life and never lets gender norms stop me from becoming a better Civil Engineer and a
better version of myself.

7. What do you like the most about yourself which you feel as your asset in your future career?
The thing I like most about myself is my sense of optimism. Always looking at the bright side. This could
help me in my future career as this will help me not feel discouraged by small waves of struggles and stress but
instead see and make them stepping stones for me to grow and develop. With optimism, I will be able to also
see the good life can bring and use them as a motivation to keep my passion and to keep pursuing my dreams
‘til all of them are at the palm of my hand.

8. What would you like to change about your generation to make a better future?
What I would like to change about our generation is its being too pessimistic. Why? Because this trait
prevents us from looking at the brighter side of life. Being pessimistic hinders us from exploring other
alternatives to whatever problems and struggles we have and pushes us to think we are always gonna be stuck
in the same bad situation forever where in fact everything we do is an effect and impact of how we think of and
deal with things. Let us all remember that life is what we make it and with negativity sown, so do is reaped but
with positivity sown comes a better and brighter future.

9. Why do you choose to be a (chosen career)?

I chose to be a Civil Engineer because it has always been my lifelong dream to build infrastructures and
help our municipality grow and prosper and at the same time giving many job opportunities for the less
privilege and creating more acquaintances and at times friends in the field. I also want to show to the world
that girls have what it takes to make and build structures that are not just sturdy, stable and long-lasting but
are filled the hopes and dreams of many Filipinos like me. I want to be a role model to my co-Filipinos
especially my fellow women to never lose sight of their dreams and to always pursue what they want because
a dream will stay a vision without one doing action.

10. What would you do if your parents are against your chosen career?
I would persuade them to trust in me and my choice. I know this is quite a difficult matter to go against
my parents knowing all the sacrifices they did for me and that they are just thinking about me. But I believe
that as my parents, they would still have the heart to trust and hold on to my choice and support me after all
they are the ones who instilled me with the right and best traits and molded me to who I am right now. And
whether they like my chosen career or not, all I have to do is to show them I can and I will! After all I am their
daughter – the daughter they brought up well.
11. Are the youth of your generation more pressured to perform than the youth of the previous generations?
I do believe both the generations of yesteryears and today have their own share of pressure. It is just
that their reactions to these pressures are way different. Before, they would be seen as motivation to keep
going or just find another alternative in case things don’t work while now, our generation seems to be too
pressured to keep up with the demands of the world – of the society. They long to belong in the standards and
are pushing to do more than they can. Totally forgetting, that the greatest love of all is the love of one’s self.
The generation today must remember to take a break, to stop, to pause, and to re-evaluate the greater things in
life.

12. Do you consider your financial status a hindrance to your chosen career?
In my opinion, no, it does not hinder me because I believe money can be found and earned in many
ways. I could do many part time jobs or even take a shot in different scholarship programs. I think it’s the lack
of passion for the career that hinders one. Passion is the driving force that enables one to find solutions to
problems like money matters in their road towards their chosen career. Without passion, one would be like a
rudderless boat but with it, even impossible says “I’m possible!”

13. What does it mean to be a modern woman?

To be a modern woman means to be a woman of confidence who is ready to take own many ventures
that would help her grow and develop; a woman of self-worth who knows who she is and be a role model to
other women and people to embrace their uniqueness. But most of all, a woman who lives in the now who is
not afraid to speak up for herself and for others.

14. Do you think there is a positive effect in joining a pageant to your future career?
Yes, I do believe there is as this pageant enabled me to develop my self-esteem, self-worth and my
camaraderie with others. These traits will aid me when I am already in my future working environment. I’d be
more confident to express myself and my opinions to others knowing that I, too, have the right to speak up my
mind and be heard and I’d be able to communicate and work well with others as well. Being a true Genia
Glamorosa – a woman with the intellect and glamour.

15. How does modern technology affect your chosen career?

Modern technology makes standards even higher does expecting much from the workers. It is indeed a
challenging era but I believe this would be a great opportunity for me to also challenge myself to keep up with
this ever changing world. With modern technology, I’d be able to make greater and more effective products
and services that I could provide to help our fellowmen and in a greater view, the world.

16. Should teachers and students be friends on Facebook. Why and why not?
I believe it is fine as long as the sole purpose of the platform is to ask queries, answer questions and
exchange ideas about topics that are educationally related. I think it is fine considering that we are in the
modern age of technology and that students have the rights to ask teachers about things they don’t understand
about a certain topic or subject or the sole purpose of information dissemination through group chats. But I do
believe that authentic friendship is much better than that of social media. That teacher-student friendship that
enables them to discuss lessons and aid learning gaps that are happening to students.

17. What is the most important extra-curricular activity that you are involved in, and why?
The most important extra-curricular activity that I am involved in is pageantry. My very joining of Genia
Glamorosa. As it is my very first time to showcase myself and what I have to a greater crowd. Genia Glamorosa
enabled me to discover more about myself and I was able to develop and improve my self-esteem and relations
with other girls who I treat as my friends rather than my competitions. This pageant truly made me embody its
ideals and now I’m striving even more to be a woman of substance and a woman with a heart – the essence of
Genia Glamorosa.

18. In your opinion, what is the positive and negative effects of Social Media in school?
Social Media is a platform that will enable students to connect with other students, their teachers and
the school and to share and exchange information and ideas. But lately, Social Media had been used as a
platform to showcase one’s negative opinions and post hatred towards others may it be in the school, the
community or worse the family. It has lately been “too open” for students and everyone and some even post
malicious stuff. Some would also strive to keep up with what is on trend without regards to whether they are
still just or appropriate and it is indeed becoming a common problem in school. Students, teachers and the
school have the freedom to express, yes, but let us remember that as we do, we don’t humiliate ourselves the
other and still have respect to them and ourselves while doing so. “Social media is useful yet too much of it
makes it unsocial media.”

19. Should you be crowned; how would you use your influence to make your school better?
If I would luckily win the crown tonight, I would use this title to influence and inspire my co-students
that indeed, our school values: prayer, diligence, patience and perseverance with passion are keys to help one
achieve their aspirations in life. And that anyone could get the crown if they just try and have self-belief. And
that with this title, I would help raise awareness about the importance of self-esteem, self-worth and passion
to an individual. With this, I can bring about motivation for students like me and others to embrace themselves
and always think that we are our own Kings and Queens.

20. How can you be a role model to your schoolmate?

I can be a role model to my schoolmates by inspiring them to go for their dreams and to pursue where
their heart directs them to. Just like me, before I lack the self-esteem to join pageantries or even try other
activities but now I became more open to them and tried to take more steps forward and onward. I am gonna
be their living evidence of getting out of one’s shell to experience the world better and to embrace themselves
better. As only when we sail across the ravaging waves that one can find a better shore.

21. Can student make a difference in politics even before they can vote?
Yes, I believe we, students can. We can make our own little actions that could influence a greater mass.
For example, through our school debates and campaigns about honest voting and anti-corruption drive, we are
able to send off our message to the community that what the youth need are leaders who have the thought of
serving not of being served and that if what Rizal said was true of the youth being the future of the nation, then
indeed that would be the goal of voting by most of the nation.

22. What accomplishment are you most proud of?

The accomplishment I’m proudest of is my joining in pageantries since last year and now here in Genia
Glamorosa. It took me quite a while to get out of my shell and showcase myself to others but as the saying goes
the journey of a thousand miles begins with one step and so I took that very first step and I was lucky enough
to be crowned as our school’s Ms. Intramurals 2022, our baranggay’s Ms. Gabi 2022, now being one of the
contenders, to be in the Top 5 of Genia Glamorosa that showcases confidently beautiful girls with a heart. This
pageantry journey has enabled me to have more confidence, self-belief, self-worth and to be a risk taker. This
two years had been full of blessings and surprises and has been very overwhelming and there is nothing I want
more but to be of inspiration to my fellow women to never stop the flame of their dreams.

23. Would you like to be famous? Why or why not?

A. Yes, I would want to famous by becoming a personality that is presumably great. Someone who is a
good influence and role model to people. A personality that as it self says contains the personality one wants to
become into. One that will be known for standing up for what she believes is right and one who speaks up for
others and makes use of fame to bring about societal justice and equality and makes it a platform for everyone
to develop self-esteem and self-worth. Someone people will remember, respect, love and who lives within their
hearts forever.

B. This is a very tempting question to say yes unto because who wouldn’t want to be famous. Yet for me, I’d
rather stay who I am today. I may not be that famous, but I am making a small impact in the lives of people. I
want to live helping others yet unknown to many. Fame has its aftermath and it is rather healthy for me to be
of influence in my little ways and earn authentic relations and smiles than to be so famous, I can hardly have
time for myself and for those that matters. I believe fame is but temporary what lasts are one’s intimate and
genuine connections with others and themselves.

24. What is the most important issue your generation is facing?

The most important issue my generation is facing today is depression. I believe most of the youth
nowadays are having a hard time coping with fast-changing standards and way of living. Pressures are hitting
its toll on them and some don’t even have someone to tell them unto or to express themselves with that’s why
they feel at lost. This generation is much privilege than the yesteryears but are more problematic.
