Essay Question: (50 Points) Using the front & back of this sheet, write an essay to summarize in detail
what you’ve learned this semester in class. Make sure to use terms, vocabulary, concepts/theories, etc
cited from our textbook to back up your essay. Do not write any vague essays without the aforementioned
requirements. It was a pleasure having you as a student this semester. All the best in your future
endeavors.

At the beginning of the semester, I wanted to enroll in classes that would be both
engaging and beneficial for me to continue my studies after this semester. For my major, I
believed that a psychology course on human growth and development would be beneficial. My
current major is Electrical Technology, therefore this course will greatly aid in my career
preparation. The study of physical, behavioral, and emotional development throughout the
lifetime from conception to death is known as human growth and development. Since I hadn't
taken any psychology courses at all I found them to be interesting, I was eager to enroll in the
course. Taking psychology was not a regret at all. In this short summary of taking a psychology
course, I will explain more about the benefits and understanding of psychology.
Even though I don't major in psychology, I was able to gain knowledge by taking a
psychology course to understand more about the human mind and behavior. Many colleges and
universities require that all students take at least one course in psychology or a closely related
subject, such as sociology or anthropology. The psychology lessons have taught me the scientific
method, how to assess information sources, and how to critically consider the information I
come across on a daily basis. Psychology class did help me develop abilities, which come in
handy in a number of jobs and walks of life. My favorite chapter in our psychology lesson is the
first one. The scientific study of the mind and behavior is called psychology. The study of
psychology spans a wide range of topics, including human development, sports, health, clinical,
social behavior, and cognitive processes. The majority of psychology's advancements have
occurred in the last 150 years or so, making it a relatively young field. However, it can be traced
back to 400–500 BC in ancient Greece. The emphasis was on philosophy, with renowned
philosophers like Socrates influencing Plato and Aristotle. In brief, the four main objectives of
psychology are to describe, explain, predict, and change or regulate behavior. The majority of
ideas and studies that aim to comprehend the cognitive, emotional, and behavioral processes
that humans encounter on a daily basis are built around these objectives.
In conclusion, I am very grateful that our instructor was able to simplify and more
informed in the lessons of our class. The psychology of drugs and drug addictions is the field of
psychology that fascinates me. I'm curious to learn more about prescription drugs and how they
influence your health. It was interesting to note how some medications make your body retain
dopamine, which results in a high after-use. My future and my life outside of the classroom have
been greatly impacted by this lecture because I now realize how crucial psychology is to
contemporary society and how much it can benefit people. It gives you a different perspective on
why some individuals decide not to seek therapy because of all the myths. To be honest, I would
miss taking psychology not because of the class but the kindhearted teacher. Thank you, Miss.
