Part 1
Dear Diary,
Today is Monday, 15th September, my first day at St John’s Middle School. I’m a bit worried about it, but I guess everything is
going to be all right.
According to my school timetable, I have English and science before lunch, but the first class of the day is ICT. It starts at 8:15
a.m., so I must hurry up to catch the school bus. In the afternoon, at 2 p.m., I have music, and then history and citizenship.
My favourite subject is PE, but it is one of the lessons I have on Wednesday, along with geography, religious education and art.
Well, I need to go now. My mum is calling.
See you later.
Love,
Lizzy

Part 2
Dear Diary,

What an amazing first day! My school has a huge assembly hall and the playground is so colourful!! It’s a happy place!
Most of my classmates are very kind! Melanie and Mark are in my class and they are texting me about the best after-school
club for me. I’m a bit confused because I love theatre, dancing, nature and computers. Is there any club with these four topics?
Melanie is in the Drama Club and Mark is in the Nature Club. He loves learning more about how to recycle and how to help
animals.
I don’t know what to do. I can only choose two… I can try some sessions to help me decide… but I need to join the clubs
tomorrow… So, I guess my favourite are the Drama and the Dance Clubs. Melanie says that drama lessons are amazing
because students can be very creative there. Oh, well, I guess I can learn more about recycling and animals with my science
teacher. Or maybe I can choose the Computer Club and Drama Club… Oh… What do I do…? Oh well… I guess Drama is a
winner! Let’s be creative! Yeahh!
I wish you could help me decide about the second one, too… but you can’t.
I need to go now. Time for dinner.
See you later.
Love,
Lizzy
