Dear
admissions
committee
members,
I
have
known
Ileana
Elordi
since
2013,
after
the
release
of
her
writing
work
titled
“Oro”,
a
fearless
novel
that
confirmed
her
outstanding
ability
as
one
the
most
talented
of
a
new
generation
of
chilean
writers.
As
a
professor
or
filmmaking
at
the
Universidad
de
Chile,
I’ve
been
assisting
her
in
her
new
project,
the
script
“To
see”,
a
brilliant
piece
of
work
with
a
strong
visual
language
and
creative
narrative
ideas,
that
will
lead
her
to
the
writing
for
film
with
great
success.
I
would
say
without
hesitation
that
she
is
a
first
class
candidate
and
has
the
ability
to
complete
a
master’s
degree,
such
as
the
MA
Program
in
Scriptwriting,
to
the
highest
standard.
In
her
audiovisual
written
production,
Ileana
has
shown
an
interest
in
affective
relationships
and
the
everyday
world,
as
she
manages
to
reduce
reality
to
the
bare
minimum
and
thoroughly
visualize
human
behaviour.
As
she
writes
in
her
novel,
"The
act
of
writing
consists
in
turning
life
–no
matter
how
mediocre–
into
a
mirror
simile;
It
is
about
its
reflective
power
and
not
the
show
it
reflects”.
This
way
of
approaching
reality
is
not
only
a
means
to
open
the
possibility
of
understanding
our
behaviour,
but
it’s
also
a
counterpart
and
parody
of
the
typical
grandiloquence
of
the
news
and
crime
reports.
On
the
other
hand,
Ileana
has
a
comprehensive
understanding
of
various
artistic
disciplines,
as
she
graduated
in
Visual
Arts
and
Aesthetics.
Such
complementary
fields
to
her
literary
production
definitely
contribute
to
her
understanding
of
screenplays,
which
inherently
bring
the
visual
and
literary
fields
together.
In
this
sense,
she
is
a
model
student
and
a
young
talented
writer,
with
a
wide-‐
ranging
and
deep
knowledge,
able
to
see
the
interrelatedness
of
myriad
different
subjects
and
thirsty
to
study
and
learn.
Without
doubt,
she
is
a
life
long
learner
and
sharer
of
knowledge,
and
deserves
every
success
she
has
worked
so
hard
for.
I
can
assure
she
will
be
a
great
contribution
to
the
master’s
program
she
is
looking
and
I´m
sure
will
contribute
to
Chilean
literature
and
the
interesting
new
scene
in
our
country’s
filmmaking.
Sincerely,
Tiziana
