Doctor

A doctor is a person with extensive knowledge in the domain of medical science, who applies
and dedicates his knowledge to identify the medical problem faced by the patient and then
uses his skill to prevent or cure it.

Nurse

Community health nurses fill health system gaps for underserved populations. They go to
organizations, schools, and businesses to offer health education, medical services, and
rehabilitation
Midwife

 provide full antenatal care, including parenting classes, clinical examinations and screening.

 identify high-risk pregnancies.

 monitor women and support them during labour and the birthing process.

 teach new and expectant mothers how to feed, care for and bathe their babies.

Sanitary Inspector

Sanitary inspectors or sanitarians play an important role in the prevention and control of diseases from
spreading in the community. Sanitarians primarily initiate the proper implementation of environmental
sanitation making their roles with regard to the health of the community indispensable.

Medical Technologist
The Medical Technologist performs professional laboratory work following established clinic procedures
and performs chemical and biological tests on patient specimens for medical diagnosis

Dentist

 Promoting Oral Health & Disease Prevention.

 Cleaning & Repairing Teeth.

 Interpreting X-rays & Diagnostic Tests.

 Creating Treatment Plans To Maintain Or Restore The Oral Health.

 Ensuring The Safe Administration Of Anesthetics.

 Monitoring The Growth & Development Of The Teeth & Jaws.

Barangay Health Workers


This includes maintaining regular communication and linking the community with the local leaders and
the health professionals. They also assist the community from the identification of the health problems,
the development of health plans and in taking action to promote their health and well-being.

Barangay Nutrition Scholars

The barangay nutrition scholar shall be a barangay based volunteer worker responsible for delivering
nutrition services and other related activities such as community health, backyard food production,
environmental sanitation, culture, mental feeding, and family planning to the barangay.

Health Educators
Health educators and community health workers educate people about the availability of healthcare
services. Health education specialists teach people about behaviors that promote wellness. They
develop strategies to improve the well-being of individuals and communities.
