“War is the science of destruction.

” John Abott has put it across powerfully that

war is nothing but an elaborate scheme of destruction. Good morning ladies and
gentlemen, I am here to share my view on children being the greatest victims of
war. A war is a state of armed conflict between two countries. The most common
wars are: Civil Wars (which generally take place when there is a sharp
disagreement within countries), Territorial Wars (which are fought when one
country needs more land) and Economic Wars (which are fought for essential
fundamentals such as food and water).

Children are exposed to situations of great terror during war. Many children have
family members who are kidnapped or killed while fighting, and others are taken
from their families and forced to join armies. Others are separated from parents
while fleeing conflict. The loss of the family places a considerable stress on
children, especially since the biggest mediating factor in how they cope is a solid
family relationship. Armed conflict destroys the basic necessities of life:
Education, Healthcare, Sanitation, and Shelter. The most negative impact war
presents young children is psychological suffering. Many children suffer from
major depression, hostility, sadness, lack of self-confidence or the inability to cope
with daily life.

Wars affect children as much as they affect soldiers fighting. This is why it is
absolutely foolish to think that violence can solve any dispute. The violence of war
is life threatening so war is neither an option nor the solution to bring long-lasting
peace. All of our problems can be solved through negotiation. People can vote.
Wars need to stop happening because as Alexander Berkman has said, war means
blind obedience, brutish callousness and irresponsible murder.
