The COVID-19 crisis has had many impacts on the economy, from raising awareness to

disrupting economic activity. However, the one aspect COVID-19 has tragically changed
is the way schools work. Nowadays, most of the schools around the world have shifted to
online learning where students can choose to access their course information and
complete their assignments at any time.

In my opinion, schools should re-open and here are some reasons why. First of all,
students need to socialize. The lack of engagement between students can negatively
impact the social growth of students. During this pandemic, students were mostly home
with their families with no other interactions with other students, which affects how they
learn to communicate with people outside of their family. The school enables a child's
mind to develop interacting skills with peers. Another reason is that many students find it
best for them to attend school face to face because they are visual learners. Given the
option to participate in a classroom setting, it decreases the chances of being distracted at
home.

The negative impact re-opening schools will have on students is as follows: Students are
unlikely to obey behavior pledges for social distancing. Having to see their friends for the
first time since the pandemic won't encourage students to avoid physically interacting
with them and young students won't be so keen to take health precautions. Older faculty
and staff will be at higher risk of contracting the coronavirus.

In conclusion, schools should re-open taking all the health precautions in consideration
which include that children should wear masks when they come into contact with another
student or teacher, sensory sanitizer dispensers should be in each class which will allow
students to sanitize their hands before going to other classes and students in assembly
lines will have to stand 5 feet apart.
