THE TEN COMMANDMENTS


ASSIGNMENT

The Ten Commandments emphasized the nature of God’s existence, as well as the
laws that people would need to follow in order to keep their covenant with God.
However, do some of these commandments need modernization? Maybe a little bit
of updating to keep up with the times? Here’s your task:

1. Use the Internet to find the Ten Commandments (unless your fab teacher has
already given these to you).
2. Then, rank them in order of importance (from 1 to 10) for (Canadian) society today
with number one being (what you think is) the most important.
3. Defend your top three rankings and your bottom three rankings. In 2-3 sentences
for each, explain why you thought these were the most important and least
important in society today. Be as specific and as clear as you can in defending your
choices (using examples is always helpful).
4. Then, create your own personal Ten Commandments, in order of importance.
5. Explain why you chose what you did, and discuss for each commandment (in 2-3
sentences) why you think they are necessary rules for society today.
