IV. BACKGROUND AND RATIONALE

The First Fridays Devotion, also called the Act of Reparation to the
Sacred Heart of Jesus, is a Catholic devotion to offer reparations for sins and
which had its origin in the apparitions of Christ. This devotion to the Sacred
Heart was fully approved by the Roman Catholic Church and several
promises were made by Jesus to those who practice the First Fridays
Devotion, one of which included final perseverance. The devotion consists of
several practices that are performed on the first Fridays of nine consecutive
months.

On these days, a person is to attend the Holy Mass and receive the
Holy Communion. If the need arises, in order to receive Communion in a
state of grace, a person should also make use of the Sacrament of Penance
before attending Mass. In many Catholic communities the practice of the
Holy Hour of meditation during the Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament
during the First Fridays is encouraged.

As a Catholic institution every First Friday of the month, every school

holds a holy mass together with their students, parents and school personnel.
It is in obedience to the rule of the school that we should maintain the
holiness as Christians and be an example to others.

 To appreciate of God’s Word in the lives of all Catholics.

 To promote and develop a spirituality for the workplace.
 To produce students with strong belief and faith in God. 
 To provide an outreach program for those in need.

VII. Activities:
 The adviser and his advisory class need to zoom meeting while attending the
First Friday Mass. 
 The adviser needs to monitor his students to see if they are able to attend the
mass properly even with online distance learning.

On the other hand, the offers for the First Friday mass that come from students
and parents can be used to fund to conduct an outreach program or Gift Giving to those
in need.
