ACTUAL OBSERVATION OF GCP’s

After executing a reconnaissance survey on October 18, 2022, the team started its
actual observation of the GCPs on November 5, 2022. The team started early with some of the
members traveling to Daraga to get the instruments at Engineer Logronio’s residence while the
others waited at Ayala Malls Legazpi before traveling to Bigaa. Insert ang kila Johim. Upon
arriving at the area, the team established some stations to serve as reference. Then, as usual
the team decided to split into two groups to facilitate quick and minimize the time of work. The
first team is assigned to locate the GCPs near the rice field while the other team’s designation is
near the shoreline. Before both teams leave for their assigned locations, precautionary
measures are considered as well as the necessities for traveling. After some other preparations,
the Chief of the Party recalled the points assigned for each team as well as the routes to take
when going to their designated locations.

The second group was tasked with locating ABY-4551, also known as the BBM 188
station and the other GCPs near the area. From the previous reconnaissance, the team found
out that the station is situated in the vicinity of Arimbay Beach Resort but unable to exactly
locate it due to the bad weather condition. So, the team, guided by Google Map and NUWA
then started to look for the said station again. The team observed and explored the area, and as
they got closer to the station, they started looking for the spot right away, but it wasn't there
anymore. They began excavating, supposing that the mentioned location had been buried
beneath the sand, but they were still unable to locate it. The resort was supposed to stake out a
point.

The team then proceeds to shot the BLLM No. 106 located at the corner of the Arimbay
Barangay Hall which is alongside the national highway. Unlike the BBM 188, this station is much
easier to find as there are no obstructions around its area plus it is still well intact and the label
is readable. So, the team immediately shot the station and used Geocam to check the
geographical information of the station.
