CBSE 10th French book showing wrong map of India is old

version, board clarifies


A language is not more than just a bunch of words. Language is a basic tool used for
communication. Although, from Monday onwards there has been brewing controversy which
has been going on since last week. A CBSE class 10 French textbook have reportedly shown
Jammu and Kashmir excluded from India. The controversy has picked up speed when the
twitter handle of Legal Rights Observatory LRO tweeted against the CBSE for demanding
answers for this. The LRO quoted “Hey @cbseindia29 is this true? Don’t U recognize Jammu n
Kashmir as integral part of India? Or you still have leftist gang holding tight control over school
book section? U r touching new heights- from Gender Confusion in kids to JK Separatism!
Amazing,” the tweet said.” The tags went to the union education minister Mr. Dharmendra
Pradhan and Home Minister Amit Shah.

To clear the air, the CBSE expert Mr. Rama Sharma have clarified by saying that the cover page
of the book which unintentionally shows the wrong map of India is the earlier phased out
edition from 2014. The revised version of the book is available on the CBSE website.

Meanwhile CBSE dropped some topics from the classes of 6 to 12 including Gujarat Riots, cold
war, Mughal courts etc.
