Episode 13

Paterno said Rizal would only give a speech. Rizal gave a speech and people applauded him. He was also
invited to share Rizal’s name in the newspaper and was seen by Leonon, who was the one who was excited
and hoped for it. His father was angry because of his fanaticism. Rizal was also suggested to make a novel
that would state the status of the Philippines. Rizal has been accepted as an eye doctor. He stated that he
wanted to set up a clinic in the Philippines to help his countrymen. He has begun to make his novel Noli
Me Tangere. Rizal started getting sick because of his lack of money. Maximo Viola also published Rizal’s
novel.

Episode 14

Rizal’s novel arrives in the Philippines. His family and other farmers read it. The angry Conchita reads to
Father Amado the Noli Me Tangere and says the book is correct by Father Amado. Rizal also found out
that his mother was blinded and decided to return to the Philippines. Rizal had already seen his mother
and said he would treat his mother. Rizal cured his mother. Leonor found out that Rizal was in the
Philippines. His mother had already seen him and helped his other countrymen. Leonor and Rizal meet
again, and Rizal gives Leonor a ring. But she just dreamed of it. The parents forbade Leonor to meet Rizal.
Leonor wept with sadness. The governor general spoke to Rizal and said he would read the novel and tell
if it was bad or not.

Episode 15

Farmers burned copies of the novel because it was said that any available owner of the novel would be
the property and property owner will be captured. Rizal plans to marry Leonor but his mother stops him.
His father prevented Rizal from going to Leonor. On Rizal’s knowledge, Leonor’s marriage was agreed to
by Charles Kipping, an English engineer. While his father was lying down, it forced Rizal not to marry
Leonor. Leonor’s mother secretly finds that Leonor is receiving a letter from Rizal. Father Amado and
Conchita talk that Rizal’s family lands will be taken to Conchita when Father Amado make them leave.
Leonor’s mother also spoke to the mailman to give her Leonor and Rizal’s letters to each other. Rizal said
goodbye to his family because of the danger his presence in Calamba brought. On his return to Spain, he
planned to produce a new novel with the subject of revolution. Leonor and Rizal wondered why they had
not received a letter from each other. Leonor received a rose from Charles Kipping. Fighting with him
fencing with Antonio Luna and later with Nellie.

Episode 16

Rizal and Nellie meet. Leonor still doesn’t like Charles Kipping. His fellow illustrator forces Rizal to Nellie,
but he says his heart belong to someone else. Conchita and Father Amado spoke again, and they discussed
the farmers meeting. Benchito returned to the Philippines. They talked about how they could drive the
Mercados out of their land. Kipping confessed his feelings for Leonor. Leonor agreed to marry Charles
Kipping. This news reached Rizal in Spain causing great misfortune for it. One night Leonor saw Rizal’s
letters for her that her mother had kept. Meanwhile, Rizal is very hostile in Spain and is almost crazy about
his condition.
