SCHOOL BASED FEEDING

PROGRAM
S.Y 2019 - 2020
The SBFP aims to:

1. contribute to the improvement of classroom attendance of target beneficiaries;

2. provide feeding to learners , prioritizing the Severely Wasted (SW) and Wasted
(W) Students;
3. improve the nutritional status of the SW and W learners at the end of 120 feeding
days;
4. ensure 100% deworming of target beneficiaries prior to the feeding activity;
5. conduct group daily hand washing and tooth brushing activities as stipulated in
Deped Order No. 10. s. 2016. to impart development of positive health promoting
values and behaviors;
The SBFP aims to:

6. promote health and nutrition information and awareness among target

beneficiaries through the K- 12 Curriculum and its alternative modalities of
education ; and
7. encourage “Gulayan sa Paaralan” Program and backyard vegetable gardening
to augment the feeding program and to complement the nutrition and poverty
reduction initiatives of the Government.

THE PRIORITY TARGET BENEFICIARIES FOR SBFP ARE
SEVERELY WASTED AND WASTED STUDENTS
School feeding is a tool which today effectively enables
hundreds of millions of poor children worldwide to attend
school, and has been used over the years to mean the
provision of meals or snacks at school to reduce
children’s hunger during the school day.

After having screening, we have 90 recipients who are

being offered with nutritious food to improve their
nutritional status, and at the end of the school year these
students have achieved the standard BMI as a
manifestation of healthy and well-nourished students.

Aside from feeding them, children taught also proper hygiene

such as proper washing of hands before and after feeding, table
manners, prayer before and after meal, good grooming, and
simple concept on health care

The children also taught basic chores like washing their
own plates and helping in serving food.

Students are required to sign in Attendance Form every
feeding day for monitoring purposes.
