Kong Khaw Noi Kha Mae

Once upon a time at Tambon Taad Thong, Yaso Torn Province

(E-saan Region/Norteast), there was an old poor woman named Bun.
She had a son named Thong; he was a poor farmer. Thong was a very
diligent and hardworking man. He always went out early to work and
every late morning his mother Bun brought him his breakfast.

One morning, Thong went out to work early as usual until it was
very late in the morning and he was very starving.
He kept waiting and waiting and his mother didn't show up. It made him
got very angry.

While he still felt very angry at his mother, he saw her walking
from distance, even more his anger kept increasing when he saw
his lunch box wasn't as big as he thought. Then he told his mum
that it wasn't enough for him to eat, his mother told him to eat
first, if it wasn't
enough, she would get some more for him. Thong didn't listen
because wasn't enough for him to eat, his mother told him to eat
first, if it wasn't
enough, she would get some more for him. Thong didn't listen
because
he was very hungry. Then he grabbed a piece of wood and hit
his mother hardly.
Later on, he sat and ate his lunch greedily till he was full
then he looked back to his lunch which he couldn't finish. He
moved to his mother, shook her but she didn't reply.

He realized that his mother

was dead. Then he started crying.
Thong felt guilty then he surrendered himself to the village's
leader and confessed all what he did to his mother. He was
arrested and was in
jail for many years. He kept on thinking of his mother all the
time.

When he was free, he became a Buddhist monk to sacrifice good

deed to his mother. He built a Pagoda and named it "Pra That
Kong Khaw Noi" which now is in the province of Yaso Torn.
