To All the Boys Who Ghosted Me

A story wherein Alon a freshmen student from Ateneo was dared after
losing a bet with his friends to message all the boys who ghosted him a
question “ Kung di mo’ko ni ghost magiging tayo kaya?”

“Alon nasan ka na?” A messaged that Alon received from her friend Lyla
because they’ll go to a party in BGC because they all passed in Ateneo.

(On Messenger)

Alon: Oo na, papunta na nga eh I’m just waiting for my Grab to arrive, excited
malasing?
Lyla: HAHAHA! Hindi ah, eh kasi I’m waiting for you like half an hour na kaya
and it’s so malamig in here, you know naman I can’t go in alone.
Lyla: Kaya ka gino-ghost eh, you’re so bagal.
Alon: Aba! Ay bastos pala to eh, di kaya kita punatahan dyan?
Alon: Sige na, andito na Grab ko, see you!

(Outside BGC)

Alon saw her friend waiting outside Revel na nakasimangot na kasi kanina pa
sya nag aantay sa labas.

Alon: Hoy! Sorry na eh ang bagal kasi mag drive nung driver and ang dami pa
nyang chika tas medyo traffic pa.
Lyla: Ewan ko sayo! Kanina pa andon sila Miya and Ruby sa loob waiting for
us… Tara na!

Alon and her friend went inside Revel, usual sight whenever you went inside a
club, flashing lights, loud music and people having the time of their lives just
drinking and dancing. They roam around the area looking for their friends.

Miya:Alon, hey guys! We’re over here!

As soon as they arrived on their friends table Alon started drinking like there’s
no tomorrow, while they’re having a drink, Ruby suggested to play Truth or
Dare, as soon as Lyla heard that game she already objected.

Lyla: What? Again? I don’t like that game because the last time we played
that game you guys dared me to dance on top of the table and that’s so
nakakahiya kaya.

Despite of their friends objection Alon spinned the bottle… but unfortunately
sa kanya tumapat yung bote and the other of it ay kay Lyla who is now smiling
like a devil in front of her, that made Alon nervous because she doesn’t know
what’s going on inside her friends mind.

Lyla: Hmmm.. I guess Karma is real! HAHAHAHAH!!

Alon: Pshh! Bring it on, Dare!

With the confidence that her friend has Lyla thought of a very wicked dare.

Lyla: Mmm, okay.. I dare you to make a survey with all the boys who ghosted
you and ask them the question “ Kung di mo ako ni ghost magiging tayo
kaya?”

Alon: No way! There’s no effin way I’m going to do that, are you crazy?

Lyla: Well a dare is a dare, so? Well if you don’t like that then just do a five
second kiss with no malisya with that cute guy over there?

Alon: What?!

Lyla: Well I’ve already given you two options, you choose! HAHAHAHA!

Miya: If I were you I will choose the first one, cause you’ll take the
embarrassment not personal, unlike doing some five second with a stranger.

Alon: Panahon na ata para humanap ako ng bagong mga kaibigan rold!

Ruby: HAHAHHA! Mag choose ka na kasi HAHAHAH!

Lyla: What now bestie?

Alon: Bestiie your feet.

Alon: Fine I’ll choose the first one, pero teke nga eh diba ni ghost nga ako?!
so pa’no ko imemessage?

Lyla: Then try messaging them ulit and state on your message na it’s just a
survey for an assignment.
Alon: Okay should I do it right now? Or tomorrow?

Lyla: Just do it tomorrow HAHAHAHA!!!

The group of friends stayed till midnight before they went back on their
condos.
Classes will start in a week that’s why their spending all the free time that they
have before getting busy on college life.

Next Morning

(Messenger)

Lyla: Good morning bestiees!!! I just want to remind Alon about the dare
HEHE! This gurl is drunk but not wasted, so I can clearly remember anything
bestie!

Alon: Di na ako masaya sa friendship na to, pwede na ba mag cancel ng

subscription?

Ruby: Goood morning besties! HAHAAH! Morning bardagulan ba to of Lyla

and Alon.

Miya: Sino mas angat sino mas sikat? Syempre, Alon ako medyo mag pagka
lutang si Lyla pag nakikipag argue eh HAHAHA!

Lyla: Foul naman yern mga besties!

Alon: Awts. Wag pagkaisahan si Bestie baka mag tampo HAHAHA!!

Lyla: HA HA HA! Alon don’t forget the dare!!!

Alon: Oo na! Pero kailangan ba talaga lahat?? I mean I’ve been ghosted for
like more than the fingers in my both hands.

Ruby: Aww, poor Alon don’t worry we always go your back naman, kahit ilang
beses ka pa I ghost we’re always here with you HAHAHA!

Alon just laughed on the messages that his friends sent on their group chats,
she really loved this girls even tho their bitchy at times still they’re a very
caring, loving and sweet friend to Alon he couldn’t ask for more he’s really
blessed being friends with these three girls.

After reading the messages, Alon got up on his bed and think of a way on how
to do Lyla’s dare from last night because he know that his friends won’t stop
bothering him not until gawin nya yung dare. He thought of just making a
google form that contains the question “Kund di mo’ko ni-ghost magiging tayo
kaya?” after making the form he sent it to all the boys who ghosted him before
including Agos, Alon’s TOTGA he just don’t know what happen one day Agos
stopped replying on is messages and literally disappeared like a ghost the
latter even transferred to another school.

Agos’s Side

“Ping!” Alon heard his messenger notification and got shocked the moment he
read the name of the person who sent him a message, Alon the guy he
ghosted last year.

(Agos opened the message.)

Hi! Can you please answer this form this is just a survey for one of my
subjects, Thank you!

(Opened the form)

Char! Di talaga to for school pero since you already opened the form bestie
sagutin mo na rin HAHAHAHA!

“ Kung di mo’ko ni ghost magiging tayo kaya?”

Agos’s Response: Yes!

Alon’s Side

(Messenger)

Lyla: Bestie!!! ano may responses na ba sa form mo? HAHAHA!

Alon: Why would I bother to check for responses, I’m wala yan. Ni ghost nga
nila ako no, and I don’t see reasons for them to answer the questions on the
form.

Miya: Ano ba yan Bestie? What if meron just check it, malay mo naman diba?

Ruby: Kaya nga bestie just check it and chika us if meron HAHAHAHA!

Alon doesn’t really have any intention on checking for responses on the form
but because of her friends nagging about it he got curious if got any
responses from all the boys who ghosted him.

(Responses 1)

Alon: Wait! What? There’s a response, okay I am so not expecting this

HAHAAH! Wait is it really him? Agos and he said Yes? Wow! Just wow! After
leaving me hanging so if there’s a chance why did he ghosted me? Ano yon,
tsk.. maybe he’s just playing with me.
“Ping” Alon recieved a mesage but he didn’t bother to check I thinking that it’s
just his friends asking about the dare.

Next Morning

Alon checked his messenger to see messages from his friend and he was
shocked seeing Agos’s name on top of all the messages. He felt goosebumps
as if there’s a real ghost na nag paramdam. After recovering from the shock
he decided to check the messages.

Agos’s Message

Agos: Hi! Do you still remember me?

Alon: Mmmm, excuse me who are you again? Cause I don’t remember talking
to a ghost. I didn’t know that my messenger is haunted. I think I should call an
exorcist.

Agos: oh, okay HAHAHAHA! I’m not a ghost by the way.. Btw, I’m sorry.

Alon: my ghad! I think I’m gonna cry. Closure ba’to? This is going to be the
first time that I’ll get a closure from someone who ghosted me.

Agos: HAHAHAAH! Well I guess you didn’t change you’re still funny as
before, so are you free this weekends?

Alon: Flash? Ikaw ba yan? Ang speed and ang smooth pare! Chong!

Agos: Well time is Gold and really don’t like wasting time so, carps?

Alon: okay sige, I’m bored din naman since di pa start ang class.

Agos: Okay just send me your address and I’ll pick you up Saturday 12am.

Alon: wait! What?

Agos: we’ll go to tagaytay I don’t have any other friends to bring on my Moms
birthday this Sunday, I’ll just bring you to meet your future In laws.

Alon: Mmmmm… Ang speed mo talaga no? We were just talking for like not
even an hour after you ghosted me last year and here we are talking about
your parents as my future in laws.. SPEED!

Agos: HAHAHAHA! I’m sorry I just really want someone to accompany me on

my mom’s birthday cause after I transferred last year I also lost all of my
friends that’s why I was really shocked when you messaged me, and got
excited to reconcile with you.
( Alon was taken aback after the he read the message that Alon sent because
he know Agos as a social butterfly he can easily make friends in just an
instant that’s why he got curious on the reason why the latter transferred and
end up having no friends)

Alon: Can I ask? What happened?

“message unsent” bago pa man mabasa ni Agos, Alon already unsent the
message because he thought it’s something very personal.

Agos: ???

Alon: Ah, wala wrong send yon HAHAHAHA! Sige na goodnight I’ll just see
you on Saturday, I’ll go to the mall pa tomorrow morning kasi I have to look for
clothes to wear pa on your mom’s party.

Agos: Would you mind If I come with you? Cause I’ve nothing else to do
tomorrow eh and I feel so sick spending the whole day here in my condo
doing nothing..

Alon: Mmmm sige, kawawa ka naman you sounds like you haven’t had any
interaction in the society since last year eh HAHAAH!

Agos: HAHAHAAH! Sad but true tho. Sige na sleep ka na, it’s already past
midnight na. Don’t reply na okay? Good night and dream of me!

Alon: ew! Tsk. I don’t want to see a ghost on my dreams. Good night t you to.

Agos: Ang kulit, nag reply pa tsk.

Alon
(Ang damot naman neto mag paharot, HAHAHA! Well I guess I haven’t really
moved on from him yet, after he ghosted me wala na ako nilandi pa na iba
kasi I was really in pain cause he’s my TOTGA I really thought na we’ll end
up together but yeah, things happen and he ended up ghosting me in which I
don’t know the reason yet pero I guess I’ll forgive him na cause he’s cute
naman and I guess there’s still a chance for the both of us.)

Next Morning

Alon woke up due to his phone ringtone and Agos calling him.

(Phone Call)

Alon: Hello? Ang aga mo naman mag bulabog eh.

Agos: Anong maaga? 11am na tas tulog ka pa rin, akala ko punta tayo ng
mall?
Alon: Ay hala! Oo nga pala sorry napuyat kasi ako kagabi.

Agos: Tsk nasa panaginip mo lang ako eh tas ayaw mo na akong pakawalan,
wag ka mag alala we can also make it happen in real life if you’ll let me
baobei.

Alon: ang aga ang landi mo jusko! Sa daldal mo na yan sure ka wala kang
naging friends?

Agos: Opo, ikaw lang iniisip ko simula nung umalis ako eh.

*end call*

Messenger

Agos: Ayiee! Kinilig sya, kaya ni end yung call.

Alon: huh? Allergic ako sa malalandi sa umaga, tsk dyan ka na I’ll prepare na
and mag prepare ka na din kasi hindi kita iintayin sa labas ng mall.

Agos: Sige, see you baobei.

(At the Mall)

Alon arrived the same time as Agos arrived.

As soon as Alon saw the young man he was mesmerized by its visuals and it
seems like the happy memories that they spent together in the past flashed
one by one on Alon’s mind.

Agos: oh, ba’t nag bablush ka? Ayieee crush pa rin nya ako.

The latter just walked inside the mall without giving any response on Alon’s
statement.

Agos: Hoy! Ano ba yan ang sungit naman neto eh, wait for me baobei!

Alon: Isa pang harot mo iiwanan kita dyan!

With a fear of Alon leaving him. He just stayed on the latter’s side while
choosing clothes, after an hour going from one shop to another Alon already
found the perfect fit for him.

Agos: Final na yan? Sure ka na dyan? Parang almost every shop may final
pick ka eh.

Alon: gusto mo maiwan dito baobe--

Agos: ba’t di mo matuloy? Ayieee baobei!!!

Alon: Tara na nga, gutom na ako eh.

Agos: san tayo kakain baobei?

Alon: Ikaw ba? San mo gusto? Jollibee, Mcdo, Kfc?

Agos: Mcdo tayo let’s reminisce.

Muntik ng masamid sa sariling nyang laway si Alon sa sinabi ni Agos because

Mcdo is their go-to place before and it brings back lots of memories that they
shared together. After eating, they went on the arcade and spent the time till
5, hinatid ni Agos si Alon sa condo nya.

Alon: Dyan nalang, thanks for the ride!

Agos: Sige see you later baobei!

Alon is smiling on his way to his room feeling the butterflies in his stomach
because of the things that have happened.

“Ping”

Messenger

Lyka: May naaamoy akong maharot sa may banda dito!

Ruby: Ako din eh parang may na saw ako na maharot sa mall!

Miya: HAHAHAHA! Ang bad nyo talaga kay Agos.

Lyka: Sure na ba yan mamsh? Di ka na goghost nyan for the second time?

Alon: Parang meron din akong na aamoy na inngit? Lyla ang pangalan?

Alon: Di ba nga pag inggit, pikit!

Lyla: Aba! Ay bastos pala to si bakla, mukhang panahon na talaga para

humanap ako ng new friends. Yung di sana bastos HAHAHA!

Alon: Sinumulan mo, syempre di ako papatalo HAHAHA!

Ruby: Oh my,na miss ko na bardagulan nyo, baka naman first day natin sa
ADMU sa Monday sa gate pa lang mag hilahan na kayo ng buhok HAHAHA!

Miya: Hoy Ruby baka gawin nila alam mo naman yang dalawa napatol din
HAHAHA!

Agos: HAHAHA! That’s how much we love each other.

Alon Btw. I’ll be going to tagaytay later with Alon, sama daw nya ako sa
birthday ng Mom nya.

Lyla: ay wow! Ang speed naman pala, so road to forever na ba yan? Snawl!

Alon: I’ll be lying if sasabihin ko na hindi pero sana HAHAHA! Sige na besties
I’ll sleep na goodnight!

12am at Agos’s Car

Agos: Sleep ka na muna, I’ll wake you up nalang if we’re in Tagaytay na.
Alon: Sige.

Agos: Btw I sent you a link of the spotify playlist that I made for you.

Alon once felt the butterflies because of the simple act that Agos made for
him.

(Tagaytay)

Agos: Baobei? Gising na, sleep ka nalang ulit once we’re in my room na.

In the Morning
(Agos greeted Aglon cheerfully with a bright smile, the latter felt so happy with
the view the man whom he loved his TOTGA greeting him Good morning)

Agos: Good morning!

Alon: Good morning din!

Agos: well actually it isn’t morning anymore cause it’s already 1pm HEHEHE!

Alon: what? I slept that long? Eh was sleeping lang din naman the whole ride.

Agos: Maybe you’re just really tired from the things that we did at the mall
yesterday.

Agos: Let’s go! My parents wants to see you. Let’s eat na rin ng lunch I’m
sure you’re hungry na.

After meeting Agos’s parents they just spent the whole day staying on Agos’s
room cause they don’t feel going anywhere.

Agos: Baobei! Oy!

Alon: ….

Agos: uy! Agos.

Alon: Yes?
Agos: Tara Stargazing tayo.

Agos sat on the grass while brushing Alon’s hair using his hand while they
both look at the stars, they were just silent a silence that’s not empty but
something that’s worth treasuring because of the person that you are with,
they stayed like that for awhile before Agos broke the silence.

Agos: someday I’ll be one of those stars.

Alon: Mmm All of us someday will be one of those stars when the right time
comes.
Agos: But I guess, that time of mine will arrive soon HAHAHA!

Alon: Huh?

Agos: Hey, wanna know the reason why I ghosted you and transferred to
other school?

Agos didn’t hear any response from Alon that’s why he just continue with his
story.

Agos: Silence means yes, so! Last year I was diagnosed with
Cardiomyopathy in which the muscles in my heart is hardening In which it
makes my heart hard to pump blood that can lead to a heart failure, the day I
learned about my condition I shut out everyone in my life because I don’t want
them to feel sad when I died that’s why I ghosted you I don’t want you to feel
miserable cause I’ll be gone soon, I was ready to ask you too be my boyfriend
back then but this heart act up like shit that’s why even though I love you that
much I still chose na layuan ka.

Alon: What?! You should’ve told me, I can understand naman eh kasi mahal
din kita, I should’ve fought with you during those times. Buti naman magaling
ka na.

Agos: Actually hindi.

Alon: Huh?

Agos: Hindi pa ako magaling, hindi na ako gagaling wala syang cure Agos, I’ll
be gone soon.. that’s why I’m taking all this time that I have left to spend it
with the people I love, to spent it with you, the love of my life.
