DIRECTION: Answer the following question.

1. Write two injuries that your friend could have suffered from the
fall.
Bruises and cuts Bruises (bleeding into the skin without a cut or
laceration) are often occur due to a direct blow to a body part;
some children with blood clotting difficulties may be more likely
to bruise than others. Cuts, wounds and lacerations result from
contact with something.
Strains and sprains Sprain occurs when your ankle is forced to
move out of its normal position, which can cause one or more of
the ankle's ligaments to stretch, partially tear or tear completely.
Causes of a sprained ankle might include: A fall that causes your
ankle to twist. Landing awkwardly on your foot after jumping or
pivoting. Strain occurs when tendons (bands at the end of
muscles that connect muscles to bones) get stretched or pulled
away from the bone. These can also happen as a result of a fall or
twist, but are more likely to happen over time as a result of over-
using the muscles.
